LACK OF SUBTLETY · 2865

Like a lot of other players, I've struggled with making Falcon work well. There are decks that lean heavily into Aerial or Avenger traits, but I wanted to feel like I'm getting some mileage out of his hero ability and cards. I feel like I am onto something with his deck.

I'm including cards that he can use to take advantage of Eagle-Eyed. Then, after setting up good plays of his hero cards, to clear off side schemes, including some player side schemes to help power up his whole team in multiplayer.

Cosmo is a well-known ally for Falcon, and he is an important part of the setup here, as he not only can benefit from knowing the top card of the encounter deck, but can also be used to get rid of top cards that are not going to fuel your gameplay. Getting him out and keeping him out is very helpful to managing this deck. Misty Knight is built to work with Falcon's mechanics. Gambit can much more easily be played with a good boost card to power up his stats, while Wraith allows you to more comfortably leave boost effects for players to draw.

Redwing is his own whole mechanic in a Falcon deck and you want to use him, but don't spend all your cards doing so. Getting the rest of your toolkit set up will give you a lot more options as the game progresses.

The rest of the deck centers on getting out side schemes and benefitting from clearing them. One Way or Another, Even the Odds, Chance Encounter, and Skilled Investigator will all play into that while Yaw and Roll will let you spread around your thwarting. It even can be paid for using Falcon's Flock.

I don't think any Falcon deck is going to be a powerhouse, but he can at least be good. I've had a lot of fun with this deck and it has served as a good "toolbox" style deck that allows me to switch between a lot of functions in multiplayer games. I've even played table defender on some turns with Vibranium Microweave, Draw Their Fire and strategic use of Battlefield Awareness, Up, Up, and Away and Soaring Acrobatics. It does require you to pay a bit of attention to your opportunities, using Eagle-Eyed a lot can mill through the villain deck quickly, and in higher player count games, you need to be a little more conservative in how quickly you put out side schemes.
