Thank you to the Winning Hand for having me on to talk about Even the Odds. I hope you'll build an Even the Odds deck and share it.
Size Matters (When It's Even)
Wasp's Small but Mighty ability is easy to overlook. One damage to the villain when you defeat a minion or side scheme? Sure, it's nice. But what if you could defeat multiple side schemes with a single card?
Doubling Up
Here's the trick with Even the Odds: it's a thwart event. You can use Giant to distribute your thwarting. Then use Even the Odds. When Even the Odds clears multiple schemes at once, two things happen:
- Even the Odds deals 1 damage to the villain for each scheme it defeats
- Wasp's Small but Mighty triggers for each scheme defeated, dealing 1 additional damage per scheme
Clear three side schemes? That's 6 damage to the villain from one event.
BONUS: Use Overwatch to also get some threat off of the main scheme.
Pump It Up
Use Passion for Justice and Operative Skill to pump thwart however you need in order to distribute and conquer. This means that you can use this deck in 1 player, stack the side schemes, and have Even the Odds remove 3 threat per scheme. It's a great return. You can even use it with your Player Side Schemes...Lay the Trap loves this combo.
Tiny Form is the Way
Don't stay in Tiny form. Your base stats aren't impressive at 1 THW / 1 ATK, but that's not what this deck cares about. You care about defeating schemes with events to trigger Small but Mighty. Giant Help, Agile Flight, and your basic activation can set up your own schemes so you don't need to nag the table.. Even the Odds can clear multiple. Every cleared scheme is a ping.
The Helmet Makes It Click
Wasp's Helmet and Heroic Intuition give you +1 to your thwart, letting you chip schemes down into range for your events to finish them off. Combined with Rapid Growth, you can start in Tiny, use a basic thwart that flips you to Giant with a +2 bonus (hitting 4 THW), then flip back to Tiny and Even the Odds. Don't forget that Operative Skill can also help if you need more spread to set up your side schemes.
Patience is a Virtue
This deck asks you to do something uncomfortable: let side schemes stick around. Not forever, but long enough to have multiple targets for Even the Odds. You're not racing to clear every scheme the moment it appears. You're setting up a turn where you clear three at once and deal a pile of damage for your trouble.

Feb 04, 2026AndyR strikes again! Nice dude! |
Feb 04, 2026Great deck idea thanks :) Just one remark, why do you have the build support side scheme if you don't put any support in your deck? You could add Quinporteur or the Helicarrier to get additional benefit from removing all threats from this side scheme. |
Feb 04, 2026Awesome deck! Thanks for coming on the show! |

Feb 05, 2026Thanks everyone! I appreciate the kind words. It's fun to have the doubling up of an ability I don't normally use :p

Great use of EtO and Wasp's ability! I hate to say it, but I often forget about "Small but Mighty" when playing her :)
