Calling Backup

What's this, you say? A Leadership Deck with no Rapid Response and no Make the Call?

Well, this is not a Leadership deck where the allies are the stars of the show. They are there to make She-Hulk shine.

Phase 1: Bring in the Allies

All allies but She-Hulks signature Hellcat cost 2 or less and are Avengers. With The Triskelion, Avengers Towerand Team-Building Exercise you have the Ressource Package to bring them into the game. Team Training will give you insane value.

At the same time, you use your 0-cost card to do more than just build your engine. You play Moxie and Morale Boost to Power up She-Hulk and then the fun begins:

Earth's Mightiest Heroes and One-Two Punch get extra value out of She-Hulks 3 Attack Stat. Best thing is: Your allies stay on the board and won't take consequential damage. Teamwork are especially good with Wonder Man and Ant-Man. Use Hawkeye, Squirrel Girl, She-Hulks "Do you even Lift" and Ground Stomp for efficient ping damage, because She-Hulk herself will often do 5+ Damage with her attack.

Continue building up your board. Allies usually are the best option in every turn, because the goal is to have your full board of 4+ allies (you can even bring 6 thanks to Stinger). Even if you are stuck with a handsize of 4 and none of your ressource cards, you can always afford one ally and one of the many 0-cost cards that do stuff with allies.

The Onslaught

With all those things you can do with your allies that don't cause consequential damage, your cheap allies can stay in the game. Hawkeye even brings her own ability to stay in the game and not die. She-Hulk has 15 hit points and recovers for 5, this is not a deck where the allies have to block with their last hp for you (of course, that is still a choice you can make).

At some point, you play the good old Strength In Numbers -> Avengers Assemble! combo for an insane turn. The dream: You have a Superhuman Strength in play, play Strength in Numbers with all 6 allies on the table, play Avengers Assemble making all your allies available again, giving them and She-Hulk +1 Atk, and hopefully draw a lot of One-Two Punches and Earth's Mightiest Heroes to let She-Hulks fist fly to the villains face.

She-Hulks Playstyle

She-Hulks Advantage is of course that she can thwart in Alter-Ego, but you will need to use your Moxie/Morale Boost + Earths Mightiest Heroes to remove threat. Other than that, switching to Alter-Ego really prepares a power turn with this deck, as a 6 card draw when most of your cards cost 2 or 0 can do wonderful things. Feel free to also defend if need be, Moxie and Morale Boost can give you time to build up that combo.

The entire Leadership Package is of course not limited to She-Hulk, but with One-Two Punch, she brings a 3-of, cheap card to the table that synergizes well with punching multiple times in a turn. Of course the 3 ATK Value makes it also more efficient. Her High Hitpoints work very well in protecting the allies instead of the allies protecting her and building a board as quickly as possible. Ground Stomp is not a good card and bested by Squirrel Girl, but having both at your disposal means you are much more reliable in your Area of Effect Attacks. It's the combination of all the pings you have (Ground Stomp, Squirrel Girl, Do you even Lift and #Hawkeye that lets you handle minions in a very effective way. Last but not least, #Hellcat is also an Avenger.

Had to put a star on this! Teamwork, TBE, EMH, Morale Boost, Moxie... this deck looks insane!

So glad to see some love for She-Hulk! AND a leadership deck that's used to make the hero shine!

Thx for the share!

I forgot to mention: Avengers Tower + Team-Building Exercise is another combo with Hellcat

This build looks like something that could work well with quicksilver too! Going to try it out, thanks.

Really fun deck! Just took down Expert Taskmaster first try

Do you typically play Ant-Man for 1? Important to note Avengers Tower and Team-Building Exercise don't work on him.

Jan 30, 2021 Incredibul · 3262

@RevDRobyes, they don't work on him, but Strength In Numbers, Earth's Mightiest Heroes and most importantly Teamwork work with him, so if I play him for 1 or more depends on which turn I draw him. He is one of the best things that can happen to you in your opening hand, as Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Teamwork are 6 cards in your deck that gain massive value out of him. He basically gives you something like Captain Americas Hero Power, on top of the abilities She-Hulk has (and She-Hulk has arguably one of the best Hero- and Alter Ego Abilities anyways).

You might even want to mulligan for him against Mutagen or Klaw. The above mentioned combo (EMH or Teamwork) means you invest 3 cards to either give She-Hulk 2 attack or 2 thwart, on top of the free 2 damage she gets for flipping and the 3 damage or 1 threat she can do. So you can remove one of Klaws opening schemes or kill one minion easily, and still have 3 cards left (which could be even another ally)

I'm glad to see more She-Hulk love recently. She has always been my favorite hero from the core set

@gustave154

AMEN! She's been way underappreciated!

With Wasp soon in my hands, All for One might work out for this deck, but in theory the card is too expensive and doesn't offer the flexibility to thwart, and another damage card is not something that She-Hulk needs. It's probably enough to have a one of as a cheap alternative to Avengers Assemble.

Unfortunately, not a single card could be cut from this deck. I will probably try to remove Team Training for some testplays, as allies are losing not a lot of hp, but my guess is this card is just not not for this hero, but for a Ms.Marvel build.

Is it not worth it to run a Quincarrier to power up Superhuman Law Division?

Feb 07, 2021 Incredibul · 3262

@webjilln I actually tried it, but it's a 2 Card Combo in a 40 Card Deck. In another Deck yes, but here I really tried to keep the cost down - against the hardest Villains, you are lucky to squeeze in a Ressource generator, and allies are kind of a Limited Ressource generator already. That 3 cost is awkward and you can play it only as Hero. But If you want to try, Team Building replaced it in my build, I think you can switch that.

@Incredibulcool, thanks!

@Incredibul what do you think of the new Adrenaline Rush from QS’ pack in this deck? Since it’s all about attacking multiple times a turn.

Feb 11, 2021 neothechosen · 9894

@bluehg I built my own version that includes Adrenaline Rush. It's a cool card, but it means you have to cut somewhere to fit the 40 cards standard. I ended up cutting Teamwork as many allies have only 1 DMG anyway, and I prefer using Strength In Numbers over teamwork, or EMH, which exhausts them so it gets in the way of Teamwork. I think both options are valid, it's more a matter of personal preference at this point.

Feb 11, 2021 Incredibul · 3262

@neothechosenyup, If I'd remove a Card, it'll be Teamwork. But I feel I can't afford a setup Card against harder scenarios anyway, so probably I'd add one more Moxie or the new 1 damage per Ally Leadership Card from Wasp.

Been on a She-Hulk kick recently and just running down the decks here. I really like this and it’s nice to see She-Hulk building a quality board!

"She-Hulks Advantage is of course that she can thwart in Alter-Ego, but you will need to use your Moxie/Morale Boost + Earths Mightiest Heroes to remove threat." What does this mean? She-Hulk can't do a Thwart Basic Action (empored by Moxie/MOrale Boost) in Alter Ego-Form right? Her cards just allow here to do some thwart actions (which aren't affected from an increased thwart value).

Sep 07, 2021 neothechosen · 9894

@Toek She-Hulk can Thwart using Superhuman Law Division, as well as Legal Practice, in alter-ego. Plus she can prevent one threath with "I object". There is no way to "basic thwart" in AE.

I think what it means is, if you want to remove threath massively in HERO form, you'd do it using Moxie / Morale Boost and benefit from cards that ready your hero to thwart multiple times, making your boosted statline even more meaningful.

Sep 07, 2021 Incredibul · 3262

@toek it means that it's not enough to use She-Hulks Alter Ego to remove threat, she just mitigates the Scheming once build up. But most villains will put some side schemes etc. into the game at which point you need her thwarting action in hero form, which you can boost in multiple ways.
