Laser Swords does not need the high-risk Live Dangerously in order to function well. If you simply have multiple 'Pool aspect allies in play, then Laser Swords buffs enough to justify its 3 cost. The longer those allies remain in play the more damage you can do with Hero attacks - which is especially helpful against tougher villains or playing expert cards. Of course the trade-off is acceleration, boost and extra encounter cards...but you control how long and when those allies will be in play. Symbiote Suit is another viable option here.

Cable can setup a combo which gives you three (potentially infinite) rounds in a row of Shadowcat nullifying Live Dangerously's icons, meaning +4-ATK from Laser Swords and +2 hand size from Live Dangerously
Here is the setup:
- Children of the Atom to make Cable an x-men, fulfill Shadowcat's req.
- Med Lab already containing Shadowcat.
- At least 1x Command Team with 2 counters avaiable.
- Laser Swords in play too. (by Lock and Load)
- Live Dangerously in hand to start the sequence.
Here is the sequence:
- first free turn Live Dangerously enters play, as Shadowcat is played from Med Lab exhausted.
- second free turn we exhaust Shadowcat thrice (2x counters from Command Team) to send her to the Med Lab and pay for her again.
- third (and following) turn(s) as long as we can repeat step two, the rounds are infinite. +2 Hand size for everyone and +4-Atk forever. This is broken, especially in multiplayer (as long as you have enough tempo for the setup).
BONUS Utopia triggers every turn with Shadowcat, readying Cable for free.
