This deck intends to make use of the new Black Panther ally released in the upcoming War Machine pack. Nick Fury is being used as a placeholder in this deck for now.

At first glance, this ally doesn't appear to have a great stat line with 4 cost, 4 HP, 2 ATK/2 THW with double consequential damages for each. However, his ability to pull a Leadership event out of the deck makes for some infinite combos when played with Rapid Response.

This is where his double consequential damage is to the advantage, because after he re-enters play with Rapid Response, he enters with only 3 HP... and you can immediately take another action to reduce to 1 HP the turn you play him. As long as you can get another Rapid Response down before your next turn, the next time you play him, you'll use another 2 ATK/2 THW to kill him off, and then immediately be able to play him again the next turn, and immediately do another 2 ATK/2 THW. So as long as you have access to Rapid Response every turn, you'll get 4 ATK or 4 THW or 2 of each every turn from Black Panther.

But the best part is that every time you play the Panther ally, you get to pull out an event card when you come back... and I'm taking Make the Call.

Make the Call will allow you to constantly resurrect Maria Hill for her cost of 2, but gaining a card draw. So every turn not only will you play a new copy of Black Panther ally, but you'll also play a fresh copy of Maria Hill as well. She'll give an an immediate card back to the table, PLUS 2 THW, PLUS a block which will be useful because Rapid Response means you need to be in Hero form to use Rapid Response.

So, to summarize so far, you'll need to have access to Rapid Response every turn, which will cost the card itself plus two resources and then have Maria Hill and Make the Call both in your discard pile. It will cost another two resources to play Maria Hill. Net Cost most turns will be 4 resources plus a Rapid Response, and for this, you'll get something like 4 ATK, 2 THW, a free card and a block. Not a bad return.

The question then becomes how to have constant access to pulling Rapid Response cards, and the answer is the Black Widow. She also had an interesting interaction with her Synth Suit because when she triggers a prep card she gets to ready as well.

Ultimately the combo you are looking for looks something like this.

-1. Get a Rapid Response down on the table ASAP. This deck is running 3x copies, and you'll also want one in the discard pile so that the Safe House can pull out a 2nd copy for you.

You need to have 2 copies at all times... one in your hand/discard pile and one on the table

-2. Play Black Panther ally as soon as you get him and then pull out a Make the Call. If you have enough resources left, put Maria Hill into play. If not, you can wait until the next turn. Make sure to use a basic action so he is down to 2 HP. Thwart with Hill to get her down to 1 HP.

-3. Ideally at this point, you're in Hero form so end your turn. On the villain phase, use Hill to block for you, getting her in the discard pile.

-4. On your turn, perform one of your own basic activations (2 THW / 2 ATK) in order to exhaust, and then use Black Panther to do the same (2 THW / 2 ATK). This will trigger the process:

  • Panther dies and Rapid Response triggers, returning with 3 HP
  • Panther pulls Make the Call which is used immediately to bring back Maria Hill
  • Synth Suit readies Black Widow
  • Widow maker deals 1 damage to an enemy

-5. Then you can immediately activate with all three characters again, with Maria Hill doing 2 THW, Panther 2 ATK and Widow 2 ATK. (At this point, I'll assume that threat is more or less taken care of, so I'll just write ATK from here on unless using Maria Hill)

-6. Flip over to alter-ego, use Safe House and Gauntlets to get another Rapid Response back on the table and end your turn.

You should have done 5 activations total between your three characters for 2 ATK/2 THW each time.

-7. Next turn, before you flip back to Hero form, you absolutely need to use Safe House and Gauntlets to get that 2nd copy of Rapid Response back in your hand before you flip.

-8. Once you flip, make sure to perform a basic activation again for 2 ATK and have Maria do 2 THW to get her in the discard pile first. Then use Black Panther to do 2 ATK to trigger this process again:

  • Panther dies and Rapid Response triggers, returning with 3 HP
  • Panther pulls Make the Call which is used immediately to bring back Maria Hill
  • Synth Suit readies Black Widow
  • Widow maker deals 1 damage to an enemy

-9. Again, same as step 5, you can immediately activate with all three characters again, with Maria Hill doing 2 THW, Panther 2 ATK and Widow 2 ATK.

-10. Finally, make sure you play your Rapid Response back on the table again so that you're ready for the next turn.

You should have done 6 activations between your three characters for 2 ATK/ 2 THW each time.

And then you're back on step 3, so repeat the process infinitely. You'll always have a block available for you when in Hero form, and you'll do 10 or 12 of something every round.

What else could we add? Try playing Lead from the Front to boost all of these activations, Morale Boost to boost the Widow, or add a Last Stand when Panther is going to be defeated anyways. If you get some of these down, you're looking at 20 damage per round...

... infinitely
