Hi welcome to the sixteenth in a series of decks I plan to build directly influenced by the amazing Get Up and Game! Perfect Match-Up series found here: https://youtu.be/1I2q3sT6FoA Please check out the channel and the video since I thought it was an amazing gift to the community and it inspired me to start playing Champions more regularly.

My goal with this series is to create a unique deck inspired by each challenge match-up in the video using all the suggested cards plus some of my own to create a deck that any player can use to check out the challenge. If you’re missing some cards from a deck please ask in the comments and I’ll do my best to find replacements from your collection so that you can have fun too! Hopefully I can build a deck that can beat the villain on both standard and expert. I’ll try to document any tweaks I made while playing the deck too.

Oh boy. Next up we have the most unpredictable hero Star-Lord going up against the swingiest villain The Hood (using his 9 standard encounters). If you've ever played with either of these, then you know there is a heavy random element at play. Star-Lord can either pull extra encounter cards that are no big deal or that grind your game to an instant halt. Likewise when playing the Hood, the incredible range of possible enemies and treacheries you can face make it almost impossible to truly plan for. Because of this, my goal was to just make sure my deck CAN win the scenario as guaranteeing a win here is like rolling a die and guaranteeing it will land on 6. I lost my first Standard game and then won my second. I then lost 3 Expert games before finally taking down Expert Hood.

That being said the deck does still apply a strategy which I will lay out here. It mainly focuses on the fact that Iron Man is the only Avenger in the deck AND that Star-Lord can give him the Guardian trait so that he can have more upgrades and benefit from Guardians of the Galaxy. To this end I also placed three copies of Call for Aid so that we can find Iron Man. These cards don't become dead weight however as once we have Iron Man, they simply can be used to immediately deck out to draw an encounter card! If you've played Star-Lord then you know how important one additional encounter card can be between a win and a loss.

Once Iron Man is out you can start tossing all the various upgrades on to him. If you have Guardians of the Galaxy out, not only will you play them for free, you'll also draw a card each time you play one. This can lead to some insane turns where you play an upgrade, draw a card, then play another, and draw another etc etc.

Since we have to carry two copies of the most important upgrades, it makes sense to include another attachment loving ally with Yondu. Beast and Nova Prime are also good back up allies. The important thing to note is that in most cases, Hood games do not last very long so worry about putting in as much damage as possible as swiftly as possible with whoever is available.

That's pretty much it! Get out your allies and load them up with attachments and try to attack as much as possible. Hood's main weakness is his lack of health so this deck is a true Spray and Pray type scenario. If you can survive enough turns of the Hood tossing everything he has at you, for you to in turn throwing everything you have at him, then you win! This scenario is chaos incarnate. Good Luck!
