The inspiration for the deck is a multiplayer deck. In multiplayer, your role is to be minion slayer making sure the villain doesn't have the tempo through minions, and your allies are free to do other tasks. In solo, you deal consistent damage, take out any minions that hit the board, and can setup big damage combos to defeat the villain.

I played this deck to learn to play the aggression aspect. I went into the deck thinking I would always be on the back foot because Miles would need to defend the enemy's attack, there wouldn't be enough thwarting available, and the damage wouldn't be enough to take the villain out in time. After playing, Miles' Venom Blast and Spider Camouflage special abilities dish out status effects which give you plenty of defense and control. Swing In and your basic thwart action is all the thwarting you need.

Since it's fun to give themes to decks. Lets talk about

Miles: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Miles' kit is made up of events that require specific resources (Swing In, Web-Shot, Double Life), cheap attack that has a kicker (Arachnobatics), and board cards that have limited use (Web-Shooter, Defense Mechanism, Power Within). The deck adds cards that have the similar interactions. The result is a deck that gets you more miles out of Miles Morales.

Reduce

The deck has low number of allies, supports, and upgrades reducing your carbon footprint on the board state. You have cheap cost cards reducing your resource needs. The printed resource distribution efficiently meets your kicker requirements.

The deck has mostly cards with printed resources which makes it easy to meet the Swing In requirement. The second most printed resources in the deck are to meet the Web-Shot requirement. The requirement is the hardest to meet but you have 4 printed resources and Web-Shooters to help meet the of Surprise Attack and Double Life.

Reuse

The Locust is a wonderful ally to tutor your aggression events back from the discard pile. Plan of Attack helps to find the ideal identity or aggression attack. Both tutors help to line up multiple Press the Advantage combo.

Recycle

Miles Morales Alter Ego response recycles your identity events back into the deck. Target Swing In and through the early to mid game. Keeping both in the deck assures that you have all the thwarting you need and free flips to AE to make use of your support cards. Target Web-Shot and Arachnobatics in the late game for big damage finish. Champions Mobile Bunker helps you draw through your deck to find the best event for the situation.

SIDEBOARD

Relentless Assault can be swapped for One by One. Use for scenarios with bigger minion presence or health.

Battle Fury can be swapped for Fluid Motion. Use for scenarios where you want a ready rather than attack boost.

MULLIGAN STRATEGY

The deck has and needs very little build/setup up. But the 2 cost supports are difficult to play during the game. You get few chances to play the supports during the game since you want to prioritize your events. Turn one is best to focus the support build up.

Ganke Lee and Champions Mobile Bunker. The best targets generally. The card draw allows you to cycle through the deck to find the best card for the moment.

Hall of Heroes. Mulligan hard for this card in minion heavy scenarios.

Tenacity. Nice to get out early to have the ready effect available.

DECK NOTES

Aggressive Energy. Works wonderfully to meet the resource requirements for your identity effects, but also boosts your 1 cost events to deal more damage. Combos with One by One to hit for 3 and 3 damage and Surprise Attack to deal 5 damage.

Fluid Motion. It's easy to play an attack event. The boost from fluid motion means Miles' hits 3 ATK consistently and 4 ATK when both are out.

1 Cost Suite. The aggression events deal 2 damage consistently and the kickers get you extra value. Surprise Attack synergizes with Double Life for 4 damage and a ready. Press the Advantage is easy to trigger with the amount of statuses Miles dishes out. Toe to Toe has great utility in the deck. It can be played to get stun status off your hero allowing your other attacks to hit through, or you can pitch it to meet the requirement of Swing In, Spider Camouflage grants you a tough to take the Toe to Toe attack to deal 5 damage back.
