Hot off the heels of my Mutant Protectors deck, (not yet published) this was meant to be another heavy ally themed Magik deck, this time "focusing" on justice.

The "Magik School" Decks that I've been working on are meant largely to focus on using Mutant Education and X-Men Instruction in order to put the cards that I really want back into my deck, as my first few games with Magik I noticed I cycled my deck very quickly and got several extra encounter cards in doing so. By shuffling cards back in, I can not only avoid encounter cards, but I can get better access to the cards that are most impactful for certain situations.

Playing the deck, it often seems like there are one or two "all-stars" and everything else is just resources.. However, the "all-stars" seem to change from game to game. I also have to admit I have literally NEVER remembered to draw a card from Mutant Education and X-men instruction while X-mansion was in play. I had Cosmo and Legion doing a large amount of the carrying in the early campaign, but as I got deeper in Dazzler, Marvel Girl, and Wolfsbane all had their time in the sun. The number of Alter-ego actions also encourages flipping down on occasion, which in turn means a more engaging decision making process. Mutant Education and X-men Instruction also allow me to shuffle my deck in the case I'm not getting anything good on top. It's even possible to shuffle an important card in and end up with that card on top, thereby making it instantly playable.

I tried Forge, Professor X, and Storm in the deck.. Storm and Forge never got played.. they just weren't necessary when I finally got them in hand. Prof X I played once or twice, but Magik can ready and confuse in her kit anyway, so I don't really feel like he's necessary (and I ended up putting him in the X-23 deck my friend was using for our group games). Build support has only been in the deck for the last 4 games, and it always seems to end up six or seven cards from the bottom, so people are pretty well built out when it shows up. (Much as was the issue with Forge)

So far I've played this in the Red Skull campaign, one run-through on a team (with Venom, Shadowcat and X-23) and one run-through solo. The deck works either way. In my team games, SC and X23 were playing the precons and Venom switched to protection, but only had access to Sinister Motives and Galaxy's Most Wanted cards, so I'm pretty sure I wasn't being carried through the campaign or anything. I've also played it against expert crossbones (solo only) and Expert Klaw (solo and 3 player)

So that's the Justice version of "Magik school" that I came up with and have settled on for now. Hope you enjoy it. Good Fun. Have Luck.
