Solo Champions League: Season 18, Round 3 - (09/01/24-09/30/24)
- Villain: Magneto + Sinister Syndicate
- Difficulty: Standard
- Hero: Spider-Ham
- Aspect: Aggression, Justice, Leadership, Protection, 'Pool,or All Basic
- Round Challenge: Use Valkyrie instead of Spider-Ham as your Hero.
Basic strategy: Control the encounter deck, always have blockers, get excited when Flight of the Valkyrior hits.
- Game 1: 12 turn loss to threat. 13 threat on the board, on Stage 3 of the main scheme. Magneto still had 16 health on Stage 1. Hero-side health was 12 HP. I failed to build any SHIELD or resource-generating infrastructure early. Got Shadows on T3 when I had flipped down and was mostly able to deal with it, but it let to ongoing trouble with the main scheme that I never got out from under.
- Game 2: 16 turn win, clean board, 16 hero-side health, and Annabelle Riggs gets the lethal. Managed to avoid an early Shadow of the Past thanks to Global Logistics. Decided to use Vivian on Boarding Party and managed to avoid it coming back into the game thanks to it showing up as a boost on the second pass through the encounter deck. Prioritized getting build over tempo early and the mid-game felt pretty straight-forward.
- Game 3: 27 turn (!!!) win, 18 hero-side health, clean board except Main Scheme advanced to Stage II on Magneto's final turn. Hit Shadow of the Past on turn 9, but cancelled it with Spycraft. Then it showed up for real on Turn 13. I ended up being stuck treading water for a very long time in the mid-game.
