Hard Knocks is perfect for Valkyrie, since she need minions to defeat. Together with Muster Courage and Establish Perimeter, we can spam tough easily, then heal quickly with What doesn't kill me, Valhala, Godlike Stamina and Aragorn. In turns you have tough to spare, you can totally play Taunt to draw 3 more cards. Great combo, just need a teammate who can thwart strongly.
That should be enough to keep her alive until all supports and upgrades are played. At that point, she can deal a whole lot of damage to the villian and wipe out all minions in just 1 turn. Week point: This deck heavily depends on high-cost events, so you might need another player who is resourceful (Heli, Avenger Mansion,...) to help you in time of need. (In turn, you can give them tough status, so fair trade - right?).
Proven through Thanos campaign mode, with Standard III and Expert II. My teammate played Captain America (leadership). He managed to keep the main scheme at 1B, while I dealt with all the Black Order minions (And Zemo) and stage II villian damage. When it comes to stage III, it's all about deadling damage, so it's quite easy (Thanos has no activation when he changes form). My health point never get below 9, it's crazy =)))
*Note: With villians who has victory side scheme in play (Thanos, Hela,...), I strongly encourage you guys to use Anticipated Attack - another option for tough status with the cheaper cost should always be taken into consideration!

Nov 22, 2024Thanks for mentioning my deck in your video, pal! It means a lot to me. Let me explain more about some of my choices here: The reason I use Taunt in my deck is because Valkyrie is not a resourceful hero (doesn't have any resource generator herself), so drawing more cards is always better. Using lowest-possible-cost cards, as well :v Also, I think Valkyrie is not a solo hero, so I create this deck for multiplayer only. That's why you see Muster Courage and Establish Perimeter in this deck - I use them to provide protection for my teammates all the time ;) Daredevil? 2 thwart and low cost - that's all I need :))) Black Widow? If you play against Standard II and III, you desperately need Black Widow to cancel devastating treachery cards that could ruin you in a single turn. Trust me, always include her in any deck, and protect her at all cost =)))) |
Nov 22, 2024Okay! I totally get the Daredevil choice. I do love seeing Muster Courage make an appearance in a deck, because I think it's a overlooked card. And after some thought, I realized the Black Widow was absolutely there because shadow of the past is the scariest card in the encounter deck. It just never came up in the six games I've played thus far. |
Nov 22, 2024Yeah, I can't believe that with a low-tier hero like Val, her nemesis deck (Enchantress) is extremely annoying, and sometimes really hard. But, my point is, not just Shadow of the past, every single card in Standard and Expert II modular is a nightmare to me. You can instantly lose in 1 turn, despite how prepared you are - so the ability to cancel "When reveal" effect is truly necessary to me. |
