The primary strategy is to bring out allies over and over for their enter-play powers as you need them. The exceptions are Wolverine who can stay out to make attacks after healing and Iceman to stun minions as they come out. Once set up with good tempo over the villain, tutor Phoenix and Full Blast over and over.
Mulligan for Uncanny X-Men or Build Support to get it, Field Command or Superpower Training to get it. Build Support otherwise goes for Stepford Cuckoos (no X-jet in this build due to tempo, but the Stepford ladies can stop the worst treacheries). Clearing the side schemes will thin the deck a little for "To Me, My X-Men!" (a tempo boost card).
Once you get Field Commander and a stable board state, you can keep an upgrade on the villain. Try to get Phoenix out repeatedly with Pixie, Won't Stay Down, and Make the Call to keep adding Full Blast to your hand. Med Lab is slower and requires consequential damage, so it isn't used. Cerebro and these tutoring cards will pull the X-men you need for situations as they arise. Villain gets Overkill, pull an ally with Tough. Someone is in the way with Guard, pull Karma. Need to ping off some Toughs, pull Kid Omega. Use Phoenix for defense so that she goes to the discard pile quickly; the more Jean rises from the ashes, the quicker Scott will blast the villain away.
Cyclops, Colossus (always flipping down), and Hawkeye (Justice SHIELD often flipped down) are my favorite play-styles. Once you've built up, flip down as often as you can, scan the board state, try to keep a Psionic character down (there are 7 available), and use Cerebro to pull the best ally to solve your problem. When you can, pull Phoenix for a Full Blast.
