Ever since I purchased Mad Titan's Shadow, looking forward to that epic Thanos matchup, I have been very dissapointed with Spectrum. I don't find it fun not being able to easily control what form you are in unless you have the right event in hand, or if you flip down to alter ego. But playing this deck allowed me to have so much fun with Spectrum, and even feel like I was moving as fast as Quicksilver with how much I readied. I don't like depending on allies, but this deck leverages her Aerial trait and her stat boosts in very fun and satisfying ways.

This deck has a ton of readying and minimal allies. I was surprised how flexible this deck is, even with only two allies and Spectrum only having 1 stat being at 3. However, with the tech/repurpose combo, Ever Vigilant, and What Doesn't Kill Me, this deck can ready you up and apply damage and threat removal regardless of what form you are in. Here is how this deck manages different aspects of the game:

  1. Threat. Ever Vigilant provides a ready with threat removal. I tested this deck against Black Widow, and removing threat from the main scheme with a ready helped me to be able to attack without trigerring her Preparation abilities. Also, if you flip down to alter ego (which is fairly easy to do with this deck), you can recover, flip up, remove threat with Ever Vigilant and ready, all while getting into the right form.
  2. Damage. Energy Barrier can help you deal damage and keep your health up at the same time, which in a deck with few allies can be very important. Repurpose then can discard it to get you the stat boost you need and ready you, allowing you to address whatever problem is at hand. You don't have to even add +2 to the stat you have at 3; if you are in your +2 ATK form but there is threat on the table, that isn't a problem, you can ready and get +2 THW as well.
  3. Healing. Energy Barrier, Forcefield Generator, What Doesn't Kill Me, and the readies that help you to recover and still manage problems on the board all keep your health high and allow you to control any problems at hand.

This deck is fun and flexible! I generally try not to flip into my defense form, especially because I have plenty of healing available. But as long as you stick to your thwart and attack forms and ready up a storm, you will almost feel like Quicksilver with how much you can control.

Thank you for the review, I do think that is a very accurate representation! I might put damage a little higher at a B or C, the Gamma Blasts and Energy Barriers do provide some damage. But I really like that rating system, thank you!

@Cameson Hi! First of all, congratulations on the deck. I'm a fan of protection and Spectrum, so this deck fits me like a glove.

Let me explain why I give the deck a D for damage. A-rated decks can defeat villain without reshuffling. It's very difficult to achieve that score, and aggressive decks almost always achieve it. The more you have to shuffle the deck, the lower the score. In other words, having to reshuffle once or twice to defeat villain becomes a B or C for damage. That's not bad in and of itself, because there are slow-building decks. Damage is simply not the deck's strong suit, just as defense and healing aren't strong suits in a more aggressive deck.

The deck you're proposing lacks sustained damage. As I said, that's not bad; it's just a way of playing. It's true that it can inflict large amounts of damage, but in the first turns it should focus on setting up the board and leaving villain almost untouched. Instead, play the necessary upgrades for the future, control the threat, manage the minions, etc.

That's the reason for the D on the damage. I emphasize again that it's not a negative. It's just that whoever uses it should be clear that it's not its strong suit and shouldn't play it aggressively.

I hope this clears up your doubts. Again, congratulations on the deck. :)

I do appreciate your comment. However, when I played this deck I found that this deck could definitely throw damage at the villain and take it out fairly quickly. It depends on your playstyle, but from my experience this deck can provide whatever you need abundantly, whether threat or damage. I really appreciate your feedback though, thank you! Not everyone has the same experience with each deck. This isn’t an A in damage, but I would put it at B or a high C.
