Here is a deck I've been loving lately. It's a pretty simple build but a few things really make this sing for me, especially in 1-2 player. I've gone through a range of expert scenarios, including Venom Goblin, Mister Negative, the entire AoS campaign, Enchantress, and Loki v2.

The issue of being stuck in the wrong form with Spectrum is overblown. Yes, it can happen occasionally, but the reality is that smart plays will eliminate that issue 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time, it is solved by Soaring Acrobatics. Soaring Acrobatics allows Spectrum to always hit a base level of 2 ATK/THW (or DEF theoretically), and in the "right" form, you can hit for 4 ATK/THW.

It can take a little planning, so look at your hand when you draw up. Which cards do you have that allow you to flip? Plan your turn out before the villain phase so you are prepared when it's your turn. Don't play Pulsar Shield if you don't have another way to flip.

If you like Spectrum, check out my other published deck for her here: Jet Blue

Stayin' Alive

For the most part, you are going to tank attacks and not defend or play your defense event, unless you are going to die from an attack. Dr. Sinclair, Down Time, and The Night Nurse will keep you healthy. Perseverance is one of the MVP cards of this deck, allowing you to frequently have tough cards to prevent damage and keep going.

Flipping to AE lets Spectrum reset her forms, and it also lets you heal. Since there is such a big focus on her basic stats in this deck, use Dr. Sinclair to heal, rather than using her basic recovery. Just don't forget that flipping down turns off Energy Duplication, so you can't use your resource generators when you're in AE.

Northstar also helps us tank hits by canceling big boost cards, and Med Team should be used to keep him in play as long as possible.

What Doesn't Kill Me will also help with healing, and since we tank hits, the cost is always hit for WDKM.

Straighten Up and Fly Right

Speaking of What Doesn't Kill Me, we want to ready as much as possible in this build and use Spectrum's beefy base stats. Ever Vigilant and Ready to Rumble help to keep us ready.

Spectrum's huge stat of 4 ATK/THW is really strong, particularly in lower player counts, allowing you to keep threats low and deal damage. So use it as much as we can!

We also have the new hotness, Ready for a Fight. This is a card that works in any deck, and will continue to be as ubiquitous as Skilled Investigator is in justice...but it does help smooth things out here too. If you ever get "stuck" in a form you don't want to be in, you can flip to AE, reset your energy forms, and pop back up before the villain schemes--you may even hit Perseverance on your way up to ignore the damage.

The Night Nurse keeps us from being too concerned with being stunned and confused, and gives some incidental healing as well.

With a Little Help from my Friends

Blue Marvel gives you a free form change, and has good base stats, so use him when you can.

Brother Voodoo helps you dig for events that allow you to change forms, ready, or do whatever you need.

Since you are taking a lot of hits, Northstar can help you avoid big boost cards and keep you alive. Use Med Team to keep him going as long as possible to stay alive!

Love this! Soaring Acrobatics is such a great card. Love the lean into her Aerial.

Really like this, perseverance is a great call for the form flipping with her

@andyr Thanks man, it's such a good card for her!

@Castlefrank47 honestly might be the MVP of this deck...Spectrum is so good, she's like a better version of Ant-Man with her flipping

Smart and interesting build. I need to try this cuz I've barely played any Spectrum, like maybe 2 or 3 games ever. As someone who plays alot of Domino I see 21 events and want to throw in Atlas Bear. Thanks for posting this.

I love spectrum. Early on, I found the most success building into events over readies and using at her basic stats as a bonus rather than a focus. With the inclusion of ready for a fight and soaring acrobatics though, we've got a real chef's kiss situation. A dramatic reduction in feel bad, 'stuck in the wrong form' moments. Thanks for sharing! I came from the YouTube link and I liked seeing this deck, so please continue share there when you have a cool deck!

I love it. This is basically what I use as well. Sometimes I swap in Repurpose and Energy Barriers if I don't need as much healing because of the villain or whatever a friend is playing. Soaring Acrobatics is the MVP in so many situations for me. Sometimes when we play Specialized Training I will take the "off" choice in a two player game (the thwart upgrade when I'm the damage dealer, for example) so that I can be 3 thwart even in Gamma form.

@Gnarl Def give her another try, she's really fun!

@MAXFightMan That's great to know, I will post more decks there in the future. And yeah, she has grown a good amount with newer cards.

@Utenlok Soaring Acrobatics is just soooo good with Spectrum!
