Winning Hand podcast episode: Our Favorite Heroes, Vol. 5

After listening to this one, I needed to try Jubilee again. I've never built a Jubilee deck. I guess I just didn't understand her. Nobody truly understands teenage girls, for real.

A strong case was made that she does best with high cost events, so that triggering the Coat and Sunglasses upgrades gets maximum value. I looked at Razzle Dazzle from WH ep 79, and decided to shift from also synergizing with status effects. No Drop Kick or Press the Advantage.

Instead, since teens tend to have focus issues, this deck leans in to single cards with multiple attacks: Melee and One by One. They sync with Honed Technique, in each instance of damage, I do believe. These attacks require minions to punch in order to pay off, so Spoiling for a Fight is here, too. This readies Jubilee, allowing her to use her hero ability to generate yet another resource per turn. Like, totally!

Martial Prowess and X-Gene generate more resources, too. The red resource cards are included to make hitting the multiple resource type triggers for the Coat and Sunglasses more reliable. With low hit points she'll probably want to flip down to recover (though Multitalented is here for healing), thus Hall of Heroes collects counters from defeated minions for bonus card draw.

Allies are blockers, but also work with managing minions: Angela, Professor X, and Blade (lots of girls have a goth phase, and also Jubilee was a vampire at one point?)

Whatever. You don't know me!
