This build is designed to maximize Simon Williams’ greatest asset: his raw physical power. Rather than diversifying your strategy, this deck converts Wonder Man’s ATK stat into a universal tool for controlling the board. Whether you are clearing minions, punching through threat, or healing back to full, every solution in this deck starts with a basic attack.
Strategy: The Power of Presence
The core loop of this deck relies on Simon’s high ceiling for basic attack damage. By ignoring his lower Thwart (THW) and Recovery (REC) stats, you focus entirely on staying in Hero form and using "Attack" actions to solve every problem the villain presents.
- Offense as Utility: Cards like Smash the Problem and Into the Fray allow you to manage threat using your ATK value. This bypasses Simon’s natural weakness in thwarting, ensuring you never have to flip to Alter-Ego just to lower the main scheme.
- Aggressive Sustainability: Instead of typical healing, you use Moment of Triumph. By overkill-ing a minion with a massive Relentless Assault or a Hand Cannon swing, you can often heal for 4–6 HP in a single activation, keeping your high health pool topped up without losing tempo.
- The Counter-Punch: With The Best Defense…, you use your high ATK to defend. This not only prevents damage but sets up your board for the next turn where you can retaliate with "You'll Pay for That!" to keep threat under control.
This is a "tall" build rather than a "wide" one. You aren't looking to build a massive army of allies; you are looking to suit up Simon with Signature Sunglasses and his Jet Belt to become an unstoppable force. If a problem arises, don't overthink it—just hit it harder.
Thor and Boom Boom are assisting mostly because they are my favourite red allies.
