Deck Overview: "Hulk: The Stun-Lock Fortress"This is a maximum-efficiency tank and control build that completely turns the tables on Hulk's design limitations. Instead of fighting his low hero hand size of 4, this deck transforms the Villain Phase into your primary offensive window. By stacking heavy armor upgrades and passive retaliatory damage, Hulk absorbs enemy strikes effortlessly. Backed by 3x Tackling for absolute status-control, this razor-thin 40-card compression delivers ultimate consistency, locking down the boss while you prepare a devastating counter-assault.I have run this setup across true solo and multiplayer games. It stands as the premier way to pilot Bruce Banner on Expert difficulty, systematically dismantling the villain simply for daring to swing at you.Player Type: Spike / Timmy (Competitive Control Tank / Loves Massive Punishes)Player Count: 1 - 4pKey Cards: Indomitable, Electrostatic Armor, Tackling, BladeComplexity: ★★☆☆☆Damage: ★★★★★Threat Control: ★★☆☆☆Survivability: ★★★★★Economy / Resources: ★★★☆☆Card Drawing: ★★★☆☆ Deck DescriptionMulligan PrioritiesHard-mulligan for your permanent armor upgrades and your resource engine. Your absolute top-tier, mandatory targets are Banner's Laboratory, Armored Vest, Electrostatic Armor, and Indomitable. Getting Banner's Laboratory down on turn one completely secures your card management, ensuring you can smoothly shrug off any poor opening hands. The Volley-Block Loop (Enemy Phase Dominance)This deck thrives when the villain attacks you. With Armored Vest and Immovable Object equipped, Hulk's defense stat reaches absurd heights. Every single time you exhaust to defend an attack, Electrostatic Armor immediately pings the villain for 1 retaliatory damage. Right after the attack resolves, discard Indomitable to ready Hulk right back up—completely bypassing his greatest weakness of staying exhausted. Before the player phase even begins, drop a Counter-Punch to strike the villain back using Hulk's massive basic attack power.Total Status Lockdown (Tackling Mechanics)The addition of Tackling (Tackling) completely alters the matchup dynamic. Because this deck is oversaturated with physical ((\mathbfit{\aleph })) resource icons, you will almost always trigger the bonus effect. For 2 resources, you deal 3 damage and Stun the villain. This buys you crucial, stress-free rounds to safely flip down to Alter-Ego form, abuse Banner's Laboratory, and heal back up to full health without worrying about threat acceleration or incoming attacks.Unlocking the Smash (Player Phase)Once your turn starts, Hulk is standing tall, fully readied, and holding a fresh hand. If you draw into your iconic HULK SMASH, unleash it for a cataclysmic 13 damage with Overkill. Since Hulk's identity forced-discard flaw wipes your unplayed cards at the end of the round, use Blade (1 cost) as your ultimate physical resource sink to convert leftover cards into steady, continuous damage.
Go ahead, hit me. I promise you won't like what happens next.

Jul 22, 2026Thank you so much for the fantastic feedback! I am absolutely thrilled to hear that you enjoyed playing the deck, even during a quick rush match. It is completely normal that your allies felt a bit sidelined in your first game. This deck is heavily optimized to keep the villain focused on Hulk, but when you pick the right match, Blade, Cosmo, and Ironheart will have plenty of room to step in and clear out schemes for you.To really see this deck shine and give your allies the perfect playground to thwart, here are the best test villains for "Hulk Unbreakable" Klaw (Core Set) – The Ultimate Testing GroundKlaw is the absolute gold standard for testing this specific Protection build. Why he is perfect: He hits hard enough to feed your defensive counters (Counter-Punch and Electrostatic Armor), but more importantly, he spawns side schemes right from setup (like Defense Network). This is the exact moment where your allies come in: while Hulk is busy tanking Klaw's heavy swings, Cosmo and Ironheart can safely sit on the board and chip away at the threat without taking unnecessary damage. Rhino with "Bomb Scare" (Core Set) – Pure Comfort ZoneIf you want a pure, thematic Marvel matchup where you can easily practice your timing. Why he is perfect: Rhino has a notoriously low threat threshold on his main scheme. This is the perfect test to see how crucial your allies are. You can use Tackling to stun Rhino, flip down to Bruce Banner to heal up, and let your allies handle the threat removal so the scheme doesn't pop while you are recovering in Alter-Ego. |
I like this. I had a quick play with it. I need to try again properly to see if my allies can actually get in and thwart for me. As I said I did rush play and might have been the wrong villain. BUT I enjoyed this deck!
