A number of minions in the Fear No Evil expansion have the Vulnerable trait, so they are discarded when stunned or confused, avoiding the When Defeated effects. Nobody weaves a web of status cards likes Miles Morales!

First priority is the hero-specific events Swing In and Web-Shot, making sure to hit the resource kickers triggering Spider-Man's hero abilities. You can attack the villain with Web-shot and stun a vulnerable minion, very flexible. Or, with a status card on the villain, follow up with Press the Advantage to draw a card.
A noticeable absence from the deck is Drop Kick. I just found it too expensive and too difficult to get the 1 card draw. Instead, No Quarter with Honed Technique and Follow Through tries to draw cards. Plan of Attack can fish for his hero-specific attacks and is another mental resource to trigger Honed Technique.
Most fun combo: Flip down to alter-ego, shuffle into the deck a hero card and Aggression event with Assault Training, heal, exhaust Ganke Lee to draw a card, play Double Life to flip to hero form, play Surprise Attack using a strength resource.
