This is my first published deck so I hope everyone enjoys trying it out as much as I enjoyed putting it together and fine tuning it!
Jessica has two things that I think are slightly overpowered - her thwart (and the fact it gives her 2 counters when she clears a side scheme) and her alter-ego card which lets her put allies in for cheap. So, when I started building I initially thought Justice would suit her best. However, I thought the Justice Player Side Schemes didn’t synergise as much as the leadership ones and same with the allies.
Without boring anyone about the thoughts I went through, here’s the basic idea for the deck (which I’m finding clears villains on expert without difficulty):
1) you want at least 1 side scheme out every turn - clearing it can get you 3 investigation tokens (one from your basic thwart and two from clearing the scheme).
2) helicarrier is there purely as a target for “Building Support”. however, if you don’t yet have “Calling in Favours”, I’d say actually get that in early and worry about Helicarrier later. I know it’s cheaper but it’s such an important part of her kit.
3) every single turn should end in hero form. you have enough allies and can play them for cheap with “Calling in Favours”. Flip to Alter Ego and heal if you need to, use Calling in Favours, but always flip back to hero so that the thwarting can be done to side schemes and only rarely needs to be used on the main scheme.
4) Almost always use one of your tokens on “Big Mistake”. one token for 2 damage is better than 1 for 1 when using it later. don’t forget you can choose overkill so you’re almost always getting better efficiency this way.
5) the Leather Jacket shouldn’t be put into play unless there’s nothing else to play because this deck doesn’t want JJ to defend. She either wants to tank the hit and heal (again good recovery) or let an ally block. See point 3 above.
Like I say, I’ve had great success with this deck and there’s a good amount of card draw to get those important cards out quickly. Enjoy and let me know how you get on!
Incredible deck! Just played this against expert Klaw and let me tell you when I say that the girls definitely had fun!!
I cannot remember the last time I used mission training!! Also, Adam Warlock was popping off, far more than I expected.
Thank you for the write up too.
