The best part of The Best Offense? As a temporary card, It gets discarded at the end of the villain phase. We are not running Ready for a Fight in order to start hero phase in alter ego half of the time and to use that opportunity to recur The Best Offense again and again. Unlucky and started in Hero form? Hopefully your past self passed an extra copy she drew or stored in The Painted lady to her top deck (your hand) at the end of her turn using her hero action. That's thinking ahead!
You want to find Probability Field as soon as possible, Hope Summers can help with that as well as becoming a Posse card to hit the activation requirement for The Posse.
During the villain phase when you are in hero form, tank hits or have the Posse defend for you while giving them a boost with Stronger Together. Once Echo is in play she can defend for you every turn. Otherwise Stronger Together is a 0 cost heal for their consequential dmg.
You want to be ready during your turn in order to maximize probability field hitting up to 9 dmg or 9 thwart per activation when hitting a double resource or wild, so avoid exhausting to defend. Your source of readies are 3 copies of What Doesn't Kill me as well as The Posse which you will recur with Pip the Pug.
Alter Ego Action Target: The Best Offense
Pip Target: The Posse, Jackpot, White Fox
The Painted Lady: collect extra The Best Offenses
Hero Action Target: Pass along The Best Offense or pick up The Posse left by Pip.
