Peter Quill leads from the front: a small, high-quality ally squad holds the board while Star-Lord stacks facedown encounter cards and cashes them in for huge Sliding Shot turns. Game plan Setup: Peter Quill's setup puts an Element Gun in hand, so you're never without a weapon. Build the crew: Get allies out early (Nova Prime, Squirrel Girl, Maria Hill, Hawkeye) and boost them with Comms Implant. Use Lead from the Front to ready the team for extra value, and Make the Call to bring a key ally back. Load up: Take facedown encounter cards with Daring Escape and Star-Lord's own "What could go wrong?" ability. Star-Lord's Helmet turns that risk into a bigger hand. Cash out: Sliding Shot gets stronger with every facedown encounter card in front of you, so one big turn can take a whole villain stage. Support suite Helicarrier and Quinjet keep allies cheap and plentiful. Knowhere and Bad Boy add Guardians flavour and economy. Leader of the Guardians ties the hero and ally plans together. Mulligan for Element Gun (if not already in hand), an early ally, Comms Implant, and Star-Lord's Helmet. Watch out for Every facedown encounter card gets revealed later. Only stack when your board can take the hit, or when Sliding Shot will finish the stage. Ally upkeep: don't overspend on Comms Implants if the villain punishes allies.
