Phoenix's Mind Control upgrade allows her to control a non-elite minion.
Karma is an ally with the same power.
Moondragon can manipulate ANY minion, elite or non-elite, for a single activation.
If those controlled minions become Honorary X-Men, then they can take on the Protective Training upgrade for more hit points. Also then Game Time can ready and heal them for two activations in the player phase.
With the Psionic trait, Phoenix may use Psychic Misdirection to turn a minion's attack against the villain.
Use Elixir, Triage, First Aid, Med Team, and Render Medical Aid to heal the controlled minions, keeping them in the fight.
