Venom has finally come, and here's a Justice/basic deck that will blow your mind!

Going Basic: Basic allies are getting good. REALLY good! Running The Power in All of Us makes sense here since we are running mostly 1 cost for Justice and higher cost for Basic.

The 3 Sonic Rifle are mostly for increasing the chance of getting one.

The deck builds around keeping threat down while building up your board fast. Then getting Run and Gun + 2x Pulse Grenade ready for some big turns. And these turns come quite often once you hit the end stages of the game. The deck has great card draw and you can use Locked and Loaded to search for grenades.

Hard Mulligan for Multi-Gun. This will make your life so much easier

Clear the Area is better than Making an Entrance, even when using your hero power each turn. Venom is incredibly strong when confusing the villain then flipping to alter ego and healing up/drawing with Project Rebirth 2.0, so healing has never been an issue for me. The card draw from Clear the Area is so much better.

In multiplayer I ran this with my buddy who played aggression Iron man. He had so much freedom to ramp up that we beat: Rhino, both Green goblin decks, Klaw, and Wrecking Crew in expert in our first evening run. We went on to clearing RoRS on heroic and my buddy felt like I was carrying him through the whole thing.

Get ready for tempo like you've never experienced before. Your upgrades will be on the board in no time !

EDIT: This deck has been going through a few adjustments. I made a mistake and included For Justice! instead of Making an Entrance Both can be used though. It's basically a 3rd Behind Enemy Lines. I have also been playing around with swapping Nick Fury with Miles Morales. Both work in their own way so feel free to choose whoever you prefer.

Will try. Which cards do you mulligan for besides Multi-Gun? And does it differ a lot depending on the villain??

Pretty much the same against every villain. A perfect draw besides the gun would be Project Rebirth 2.0 and Spider-Sense. They just make your life so much easier. You ofc want to discard any grenades that you draw. Those are mostly used later on.

i had to try this as i found him underwhelming out of the box but i must say this is outstanding. i got a love/hate relatioship wit those grenades. one did 5 damage and the other did 1 xD but i still won big against green goblin solo very easily. i will try it on expert also

You werent kidding with the tempo here.. And dude! those grenades.. They are sooo good to have in the board. Theyvare an excellent Damage source in non aggression decks.

I've been messing around with Venom (both Aggression and Justice) trying to find a deck that feels consistent. I think I'm going to give this one a try, as it looks promising. I don't have RoRS and don't feel like proxying Clear the Area. Do you have any suggestions on a good replacement for that card in this deck? Thanks!

@Webhead123 There is no real replacement as Clear the Area makes a good part of the tempo... I would proxy it, if I hadn't RoRS.

@Webhead123 It really is hard to replace like Aizbaer said. You can run with Making an Entrance which I did at first but it will slow your deck down a bit. Hard mulligan for Spider-Sense early if you do :)

I may just cave and print off copies of CtA to use as proxies. I can't justify buying a box set just to get 3 cards. LOL

Yes, I know there are other good offerings in RoRS but still not enough for me to justify the purchase. ;-)

If the content in the box doesn't appeal to you then ofc don't buy it. But I would say that if you calculate the price for 2 hero packs and 5 villain packs then it's good value :) But again buy what appeals to you. I also tend to skip some hero/villain packs.

Absolutely! So, I went ahead and made up some proxies and took this deck for a spin already. I've enjoyed it. Like any "new-to-me" deck, I'm not sure I'm piloting it to its max potential yet but I like what I'm seeing. Sonic Rifle in particular has been a big surprise-hit for me across multiple decks I've tried it in. I've kinda slept on the "Confuse" mechanic in general until recently but slowly realizing that Confuse might even be better than Stun for some heroes or in some situations. Now that we have Sonic Rifle, we have a fairly reliable way to apply it.

@Webhead123So happy that you enjoyed it. Confuse is really strong in heroes who have good alter ego cards/Hero powers. The initial ideal is to use Symbiotic bond to up your tempo, then confuse with the gun+ and heal up/draw with Project Rebirth 2.0. You can easily use the same procedure with heroes who have: card draw/ressources/Strong heal in alter ego like Spider-man, black widow etc.

@Mr Suplex Yeah it took me by surprise also, so I read up on it. Apperently it's Flash Thompson losing his legs then bonding with the symbiote to help grow his legs back. He then joins the guardians. Gotta read the whole thing at some point :)

I'm not sure I understand the combo between run and gun + pulse grenade. The grenades get discarded, yeah, so how does readying weapons help them?

@rstorcdk so the idea is to just keep grabbing grenades from your deck when they're shuffled back in? Wouldn't a target like Sonic Rifle give more value since you rarely see Locked and Loaded and the grenades get used up pretty quick?

@Durand Both is needed in different situations. It is primarily also because I run with The Power in All of Us and getting more things to play with that card increases tempo. Playing Sonic Rifle can be my whole turn without the double resource cards. Also, I found adding that extra damage to a Justice deck gave me the minion control that I needed. Hope that makes sense :)

It does, thanks. I was just checking to see if I was missing something, I can definitely understand ensuring that you have useful targets for Locked and Loaded. But I'm still not sure what Run and Gun does for the grenades since they don't exhaust.

@Durand I can see that what I wrote can seem confusing. Run and Gun doesn't do anything for grenades. What I mean to say in the description is that with the grenades on the table you can use it while not having to pay resources for extra damage in case you need a big damage turn :) I consider them to be like 2x damage event cards that I ready up as additional damage when I burst with Run and Gun
