Card Updates:
+3 Limitless Stamina
-2 Jump Flip
-1 Starhawk

The Sinister Motives expansion had some serious upgrades to Drax, and gave him the tools needed to turn him into a dedicated villain killer.

Symbiote Suit: I anticipated that putting the symbiote suit on Drax would be a fun and silly idea, but I found that the card is actually incredibly powerful for him. Everything about it lends to his playstyle: more health to tank hits, more damage, and bigger handsize. The Hazard Icon isn't a big deal either because it potentially means more villain attacks against him, building vengeance counters and drawing cards.

What Doesn't Kill Me: This card is perfect for Drax. It provides healing, and readies him again for another attack (and another card, with DWI Theet Mastery). The physical requirement can sometimes be tricky to get, so I prioritized putting more physical resources in the deck.

Playstyle: There are two critical cards for Drax: DWI Theet Mastery, and Mantis. I will mulligan my entire hand trying to find these cards. Once you have Mantis, try to get out a Med Team to keep her alive and you will have consistent healing the rest of the game. I don't mulligan for Symbiote Suit, but turn 1 is a great turn to play it (since it will be tricky to play until you have vengeance counters).

Once you have Dwi Theet Mastery and 3 vengeance counters, the fun begins. Leading Blow, What Doesn't Kill Me, C.I.T.T. , and "Fight Me, Coward!" will let you easily chain together 3+ attacks per turn, drawing cards off each attack. At this point in the game the villain will completely melt in a turn or two (which is a shame, because this is the most fun part of Drax's game).

Defiance is great, because it is 0 cost and negates any boost nastiness. Shake it Off is also great, because it lets you tank a free hit. Jump Flip is a card I am on the fence about; while removing 2 threat is nice, only 2 damage mitigation isn't much. But the physical resource is important for helping pay for What Doesn't Kill Me.

Disclaimer: You could certainly take out Symbiote Suit from this deck, and it would function exactly the same (even better maybe... but where is the fun in that?)

Why no The Power in all of us? Works with C.I.T.T. and helps pay for the suit

@BobLaw I'm not the suthor but I'll give my two cents. Double Resource cards are always a touchier thing in this game than it might seem. In this build of the deck it is literally just the suit and CITT that benefits from them. When you consider the deck already has the normal double energies, which already have very few targets themselves (frankly they also only really exist to help pay for CITT, the suit, and WDKM), you're facing substantially limited returns from yet more resource cards.

Why no Intrépido ? I think It could be a good idea if you play Symbiote Suit

@BobLaw There is a version of this that runs The Power in All of Us, that also uses some of the basic Guardian allies. It can definitely work! And as @Erathis said you don't really need it for this deck. By the time you are using CITT (endgame) you will have plenty of extra cards to throw into it

@Sr Ton I didn't think of that, great idea! I don't think its necessary for this particular deck, since your main damage is coming from readying/attacking rather than retaliate damage. But I bet there is a great deck out there that goes all in on the retaliation cards, that also uses symbiote suit.

Nice one, I was also waiting on What Doesn't Kill Me to update my green Drax. A couple tweaks I´d suggest: Silk for Starhawk and The Power of Protection for Endurance. There are seven two+ cost green cards, and the power can also pay for What Doesn't Kill Me alone

@Alexin Ew don't put in Silk. She needs another web warrior to trigger so she would be strictly worse.

@The_Wall Oups, completely missed that. Thanks for pointing it out

I’ve been giving this deck a go. I blasted through the Rise of Red Skull campaign with no losses, though they all were quite close. This sounds a bit weird, but I was more successful when I tried to win, as opposed to controlling the game. I think I want to switch around the allies a bit. Maybe Starlord. I can’t think of any others that cost 2 and can thwart for 2.
