Cyclops? More like Psi-clops, amiright?

This is my favorite deck to run for Scott Summers, and one of the decks I've found myself returning to the most consistently across the game as a whole. It can be a bit slow to really get cooking, but functions as a real toolbox, giving you so many opportunities to find an answer to whatever problem lies in front of you.

Play Priorities

Uncanny X-Men is #1. Unlimited discounts on the best card type in the game? Sign me up.

Right behind it are the rest of the supports, along with Honorary X-Men, (which allows you to keep your ally discount in Alter-Ego). Cerebro will spend most of the game allowing you your choice of any ally in your deck, but even taking a chance on the top 5 cards is pretty reliable. Utopia's bonus ally slot will definitely be useful, but there's also a lot of value in an extra activation (usually 2 threat or the occasional basic REC if you're getting beat up). Perhaps last, but certainly not least: X-Mansion. Its healing can help to keep allies around a bit longer, which is nice. But more importantly, it turns X-Men Instruction and Mutant Education into cantrips, so you can get all of your best cards back into your deck without losing out on a resource.

All Psionic?

Notably, there are 3 X-Men allies in this deck who... lack the Psionic trait. Disappointing, I know. This trait is useful for keeping Cerebro at it's maximum firepower, triggering Psimitar for some extra damage, and most of them can be played with just one The Power of the Mind with the Uncanny discount. So what's special about these three? Not even Beast made the roster!

Forge is vital for getting 3 of your supports online, especially if your situation calls for a particular one. Triage provides some wonderful burst healing. And Pixie plays into a key strength of the deck: having access to more of your cards more often. On top of this, they all cost an Uncanny 1 resource, so they're extremely playable even without our key trait.

The Real Toolbox

...is the Summers brother we made along the way! Or something like that.

Realistically, the deck functions quite well no matter which pieces you get set up first. You can almost always use Scott's Constant Training ability, Mutant Education, a Tactical Brilliance, or Phoenix to find a useful tactic (even if that mostly just means playing Priority Target 8 times in a deck pass). Pixie, Cerebro, and X-Men Instruction offer you near perfect control over finding the right ally for the job at hand.
