Prison Break!
Gamora loves cheap thwart events and boy does the new Infiltration card deliver! Combo it with Overwatch, and Relentless Assault to deal with the potential extra minion, and you're cleaning up the board real good!
Deck Summary
- Play Infiltration on Overwatch to remove 5 + 5 threat
- If you get a minion, pick the one with the least health and Relentless Assault
- Stick the minion in The Raft so they don't bother you anymore
Security alert: Breach detected on level 7
Infiltration may seem like a risk-reward card, where you pick a balanced number to remove threat, but low enough that you don't hit a minion. But I'm here to tell you to crank that number up to 5 every single time even if the scheme doesn't have 5 threat left. The reason is that if you are going to hit a minion, you want to hit more than one of them, so you can choose the weaker one to engage. And if you don't hit a minion? Congratulations, you still win!
You engage the minion as part of playing Infiltration, so you can use Gamora's hero response to immediately plonk a damage on that minion. We have Relentless Assault on deck to quickly take down the rest of its health with overkill. And then there's The Raft where you can keep the minion if it's got a high scheme, or if you want to take it out of the scenario for good.
I want to thwart a LOT
I started building this deck because I wanted a fairly easy-to-pilot deck that could remove a lot of threat in 3-4 player games. Overwatch and Crisis Averted is the classic combo for mega-thwarting. But Infiltration can get a really big thwart of of Overwatch as well!
This deck does fine in solo because Gamora is well rounded, but if you wanted to optimize it strictly for solo you coudl sub in good old Clear the Area and maybe some One Way or Another as well. Player side schemes would probably work well in solo too, but those big thwart events are really fun to hit in multiplayer games where there's more threat to go around!
Filling in the rest
Really the rest of the deck is just staples, cheap justice allies, Endurance for survivability, and double resources so you can afford Crisis Averted and Gamora's Sword if it comes around
I promised myself this is the last deck I'll make before I pack up my cards for the convention. Hopefully I can keep that promise! See y'all in a couple days!
