This is an update to an older Nebula deck Taunts, Techniques, and Practiced Plans. Compared to that deck, this one is leaner and tosses the Taunt cards in favor of maximizing Ready for a Fight turns. It is designed to be paired with a Rocket Justice deck, which has a similar "Partners in Crime" name. You can find it in my published deck list.
This deck wants to use the bonuses Nebula's signature upgrades grant her in hero form to generate extra retaliate and damage reduction. This deck has 9x defense cards, none of which require you to exhaust. While this deck mostly doesn't follow a perfect defense model, you're gonna be defending a lot for yourself and Rocket, so you'll want all the extra protection and firepower you can get. This deck is the muscle to Rocket's brains, so you'll want to prioritize playing upgrades that up your counter-attack damage and give you additional resources. Some special shout-outs to Wide Stance getting extra value as a way to set up big damage for a Preemptive Strike and Unyielding Persistence for giving extra Counter-Punch damage.
Rocket's goal is to thwart everything to zero and his deck brings some side schemes that benefit the team. Specialized Training gives everyone a unique card. Take Combat Specialist to up your damage on counter-punch and to give you extra damage in the hero phase. Defense Specialist might be tempting, but this deck doesn't exhaust to defend much. Superpower Training gives you a free a Technique upgrade, which is surprisingly powerful in a deck that wants to control the villain's ability to attack.
I hope you enjoy this high damage Nebula deck and thwart-y Rocket combo! It's fun to lean into both decks' strengths and they build up pretty fast. This is a cheap deck with good card draw, giving Nebula lots of resources to inflict consistent damage in the villain's phase.
