Oh, you want to hit Gambit? Too bad.
If things come up neatly, you can defend and deal 50+ damage.
Rules:
- Don't spend all your energy counters in one place, let them stack a little if you don't need them.
- Keep the money train rolling with perfectly sized hits from First Hit using your charge bank to trigger Change of Fortune.
- Gambit's base defense plus Defensive Conditioning and Armored Vest make him essentially invulnerable to most Villains on Standard and you have plenty of ways to increase that.
- Use Jocasta to hold Natural Agility.
Congratulations, your Natural Agility plus "Stop Hitting Yourself" can now blast out a lot of damage. It's entirely possible with your deck thinned from playing upgrades that you hit both copies of Natural Agility and 2 "Stop Hitting Yourself" which will summarily execute the villain.
Firm handshakes all 'round. This is my favorite protection deck I have ever built.

Mar 31, 2026Always forget Gambit is base DEF 3 . . . There's only 5 Defense events for Flow, but that's still potential damage not being dished out. |
Mar 31, 2026You are entirely correct. I did not include for myself because of purely thematic reasons. I wanted to go for Kaboom numbers. I simultaneously had a Nightcrawler deck focused on the chip and retaliate aspect using Flow like Water. |
