Are you tired of playing only half the game of Marvel Champions? Aren’t you sick of waiting around during those pesky villain turns?

With this deck, Cap flips the game on its head doing damage, thwarting and defending all at once, using his powerful defense, readying ability, and retaliate along with a slew of defense events to take down any villain!

Most Cap decks tend to focus on his ability to stun the villain. This deck decides to take advantage of his retaliate and defense to really push the limits of what a hero can get done in the villain turn.

Set up pieces:

Captain America's Shield - The cornerstone of our build. Plus 1 defense and 1 retaliate

Armored Vest - Plus 1 Defense

Electrostatic Armor - More damage when we defend

Dauntless - More Damage when we are attacked with full health

Unflappable - Card draw when we don’t take damage defending to replace a defense event we used

Hard to Ignore - thwart while we defend

Endurance - to help keep our health above max

Super-Soldier Serum - to help play all our cards but especially defense events

Nerves of Steel - to play more defense events

Steve's Apartment - draw and heal when we turn down

We don’t need all of our set up pieces but the more we get the more powerful we become.

On to defense and damage. The deck is designed to almost always have a defensive event in hand. Especially once your set up pieces are down, you will definitely get events in each hand. Now we use our events to boost caps defense to either ready him again or stun the villain. We can also use them to cancel damage or even reflect damage back onto the villain! If you get attacked more than once you can also use Caps ability to discard a card and ready for another defend!

This deck deals out so much damage you’ll often be sad when the villain is stunned because you’re missing an opportunity to block again. That being said, use stuns strategically to help cover villains with extra chances to attack or in order to take care of tough minions. You can also use your shield throw if the minions get to be more than you can handle.

This deck has beaten almost ever villain in the game on expert. It’s great fun, especially if you’re sick of decks where allies do all the work while your hero supports from the sidelines. I hope you enjoy it.

I want to offer some alternatives here as well:

Add a third Hard to Ignore if playing at higher player counts.

Remove Dauntless if playing a villain that constantly hits you (maintaining top health could be difficult)

Alternate events I’ve included were Bait and Switch if you need to thwart more and Get Behind Me! is great if there are one or two terrible treacheries you can’t over come. If you want to go up to 50 cards you could include these as well as Nova, Black Widow and Brother Voodoo

Dope! Haven't used Cap much but I'm going to try this.

"If you get attacked more than once you can also use Caps ability to discard a card and ready for another defend!"

Is this the case? I didn't think you could use Actions on the villain turn.

@RJM987 you're correct. You can only play interrupts on the Villain's turn, or use Responses.

Have you tried Defensive Training? Shuffling Desperate Defense and Never Back Down back into your deck is a significant upgrade from Subdue to me.

@RJM987 you’re absolutely right. Someone else pointed it out after I posted the deck. I was thinking of LOTR action windows when I built the deck. Thankfully it doesn’t change the deck much since side step and subdue both still work while exhausted to protect Cap. I tried to update the notes but is it possible to do that with a published deck…? It looks like it didn’t update. @celric wow that card looks amazing for this deck! Unfortunately I don’t have nebula yet. You should try it out. :) I love that this game adds so many ways to make your deck better with each new pack.
