50 cards?!! That's right 50!

First, I have to admit I haven't been a big fan of Protection decks until Flow Like Water came out, such a fun card and so good.

So let's get straight into the build. The short goal is to survive to build out. Once you build out you're golden.

In the beginning, you should muligan hard for a resource generator like Quincarrier or Super-Soldier Serum If Nerves of Steel comes out first that isn't awful. I just prefer the others. Now there are two Flow Like Water cards in this deck, even though you can only play one, because it's important to get it out there. So I didn't want a situation where it was the bottom card of your deck and you don't get it for most of the game. If you play the one, use the other as a ready-up card for Cap or as a resource.

I like to play resource generators first, especially if I don't have a lot of defense events and then get out Flow Like Water Past this, you are simply just putting out upgrades and supports as you get them and using resource generators to play defense cards. When built out and if you have full life, you can do around 5 damage each time. You also shouldn't really be taking damage when you defend since Cap has a base of 2, shield adds 1 (with retaliate) and then you should be playing a defense card each round. Things like Desperate Defense really help out and let you ready up.

Now as far as the allies, I try to get them out when they come up but their main job is to deal with thwarting. I have Brother Voodoo out there to help look for a event card you may need and then Jocasta allows you to attach a defense event to it, letting you keep a card like Shield Block up your sleeve. I use Black Widow and Agent 13 primarily as thwarters. Victor Mancha is there to either take a hit for you from the villain when you can't afford it or to soak up damage from weak minions.

Lastly, when you get built up, the goal should be to be able to play a combination of defense cards against either just the villain or also the minions that may be out. Then ideally, you would have one card left over as a way to ready up Cap so he can either attack or thwart (of if he was already ready, then do something twice).
