This deck revolves around the pattern of flipping down as frequently as possible thanks to the volume of confusion from cards like Psychic Assault, Professor X, and Psylocke. Jean gets lots of bonus from being in alter-ego, not least of which being consistent healing from her support, White Hot Room. The other main thing to be doing in alter ego is fishing up an ally with Cerebro and triggering Danger Room for a free training. There is one Assault Training included as well to shuffle back our Psychic Assaults which will increase the likelihood that we can play one every other turn.

Use those beefy allies to swing hard and use Jean to keep threat low. When the moment is right, go ahead and get unleashed to finish the villain quickly. In my opinion, players seem too cautious about being unleashed. This deck can finish the villain pretty quickly so don't be too afraid. A good indicator that it's safe to go unleashed is that you can play a Telekinetic Attack solely with resource generators on the table (Team-Building Exercise, The X-Jet, X-Gene, and power counters). The reason I like to use this as my indicator is that the more likely I can play two of her bomb events per turn in unleashed mode, the more likely I can close the game quickly!

Enjoy!

Never been fond of Magik. Being able to cycle a non-elite minion away (for 5ER, and some stat use refunded) for an aggression deck is kinda...well, lame. I'd go with Angel first as he's cheaper for same stats.

2 thoughts:

1: I recon you could go with Utopia and a 2nd Team-Building Exercise to replace the 2 Game Time. I know, if an ally has only 1 CD, that it uses their' stat for the 1ER which is usually good. But you plan on Phoenix having equal/better stats...or you can still straighten an ally if Phoenix is in wrong mode.

With a good number of X-men allies/supports and all her Psionic cards, I'd seriously consider a 2nd Team-Building Exercise. You've some 22! cards they can buy. I know you have Danger Room, so you might want to play some allies in AE, but they'll be cheaper in Hero mode this way, since you currently have only 2 'attack training' (they both may still be in play).

2: Jump all aboard the Danger Room and get 3 each of 'attack training'/Game Time, dropping the Combat Training. I'd definitely grab Utopia & Angel for this too. Maybe even Boot Camp. You could lose some Assault Training, the 3 copies of Psychic Assault are not exactly unique effect for this deck (these being the 6,7,8th confusions).
