Hi welcome to the thirty fifth in a series of decks I plan to build directly influenced by the amazing Get Up and Game! Perfect Match-Up series found here: https://youtu.be/1I2q3sT6FoA Please check out the channel and the video since I thought it was an amazing gift to the community and it inspired me to start playing Champions more regularly.

My goal with this series is to create a unique deck inspired by each challenge match-up in the video using all the suggested cards plus some of my own to create a deck that any player can use to check out the challenge. If you’re missing some cards from a deck please ask in the comments and I’ll do my best to find replacements from your collection so that you can have fun too! Hopefully I can build a deck that can beat the villain on both standard and expert. I’ll try to document any tweaks I made while playing the deck too.

Next up we have another one of my favorite heroes to play, Thor! That being said I only enjoy him when lots of minions are around so thankfully we're going up against Green Goblin with Mutagen Formula! Thor is a hero who's archetype really excited me when he came out as I'm a big fan of the Dunedain archetype in LOTR LCG but found he was a bit under-equiped upon release. I'm still waiting for some card that give bonuses for each minion you're engaged with(+1 ATK please!) but he's definitely come into his own. Mutagen Formula is a tough scenario but Thor easily bashed his way through the Standard game and both back to back Expert games, even taking out his nemesis Loki in the process.

Thor decks are simple: find minions, draw cards, slay minions, rinse and repeat.

I highly recommend getting out Hall of Heroes as early as possible because you are going to reap some serious benefits from it. Start by controlling the threat using Looking for Trouble and Defender of the Nine Realms as well as Angela. Keep in mind that these cards are put into play instead of revealed so when you're set up a bit you can actively seek out the nastier minions to fight them when you want to. "Bring It!" is then your best friend giving you all the strength you need to smash the minion you just brought out.

You really want to get down both copies of God of Thunder, Quincarrier and Asgard to combat Thor's lower hand size. Don't worry though, between Hall of Heroes, "Bring It!" and "Have at Thee!", you will be flush with cards. Your allies are also there to back you up and help control the board. Inevitably you will take some damage but you have Precision Strike, Godlike Stamina and Thor's Helmet to help in that department.

When it comes to damage, you'll get boosts from Mjolnir and Combat Training and readies with Limitless Stamina. You have Lightning Strike if you take on more minions than you expected and Hammer Throw to finally take down Green Goblin! Just watch out for all those extra encounter cards you get when defeating a phase of the villain!

This match-up was a blast and just gets me excited for more heroes and cards to fill out the minion focused archetype. You will truly feel like Thor during this fight!
