My fifth and silliest Con of Heroes 2024 deck, which rounds out my Valkyrie in every aspect series.

This is a deck that tries to spend most of its time in Alter-Ego, using Suit up to grab key allies and cycle Professor X. Since you're going to be in AE, you can get a Sky Cycle on Annabelle Riggs to get her to draw you a couple of cards per turn.

The gameplan:

  • Use Suit up to grab Yondu as your primary Voltron ally. At worst, from Alter-Ego, you'll be able to use the upgrade you grabbed to pay for Yondu. Flip to hero to use Honorary Avenger to make him an Avenger so that he can benefit from Power Gloves and Sky Cycle.
  • Similarly, Annabelle Riggs can ride a Sky Cycle too if she gets that sweet Honorary training. That's two extra resources per turn when in AE.
  • Because this deck is a bit of a bad teammate, Professor X is along for the ride to confuse the villain and provide a decent amount of thwarting via the alter-ego Danger Room + Danger Room Training + Command Team combo.
  • This deck also doesn't always have a lot to spend its resources on, so Lockjaw helps out a lot and can even be targeted by Suit Up early in the deck cycle so that you can constantly recur him from the discard.

Things this deck does better than a typical Valkyrie deck:

  • Doesn't care about Seduced popping up from shadows because she won't be playing attack events.
  • Doesn't really need to deal with her Trouble in Otherworld obligation for similar reasons.

Annabelle Riggs twice to set up big rounds is a great idea! When looking at all the heroes’ identity-specific allies for sidekick, I totally overlooked her for the flashier ones, but this is awesome!! And giving Yondu a sidearm and laser blaster is always a great idea!

This deck really relies on the generosity of teammates, but tries to pull its own weight once a bit of setup is done. It's a shame that so few of her hero kit cards have any real impact for this deck so it's all resources.
