"I have everything under control"
I love Scarlet Witch and I love Protection, so why not put them together for a killer (or anti-killer) support deck?
The goal of this deck is to support the other heroes and their allies in multiplayer. While it can handle a solo match, it might play a little slow and you'll probably have more healing than you need. It's fairly straight forward and not too much to think about outside of your standard Hex Bolt play, but let's take closer look.
The Spellbook
-
Chaos Magic + Multiple Man. This feels like such a good play and is peak efficiency for a multiplayer game. While you can 'hard cast' a Multiple Man without having both of these cards, it's ideal to play them together. Two effective resources for three allies? Yes please!
-
Med Team & Second Wind. These are your core healing cards. Med Team is great for allies, especially Quicksilver with his double activation, and Second Wind helps sustain friendly heroes. Both of these are a decent use of Chaos Magic too.
-
Northstar. I really enjoy this guy for multiplayer, especially with a way to keep him on the board via Med Team. You can save him for those especially devastating boost cards to save you or your teammates from getting hit hard.
-
Hex Bolt. This is your core spell, especially once your board is built up and you have things under control. It is a bit of a mixed bag, but in most encounters you'll get plenty of status cards to throw around, which means you can make your allies tough or pile on Stun/Confuse on non-Steady or non-Stalwart villains. I know some dislike having a 'resource generator' like Deft Focus for 4 copies of a card, but you'll Hex Bolt a lot if you don't need to play your other support cards.
-
Magic Shield. This is such a stellar card for the support role and one of the core reasons I wanted to build a Scarlet Witch support deck. Magic Shield is not a forced interrupt and doesn't attach to friendly character so you have the flexibility to use it exactly when and where you need to. It's slightly stronger than a 2-effective resource 3-point heal though, because it stops the damage in the first place which can prevent some nasty triggers in certain encounters.
-
Board-building cards include Quincarrier and The Sorcerer Supreme which you'll want to prioritize early on if you can. I'd also caution using Shield Spell early on if you don't have these out yet or you could risk losing them to the second deck pass.
And that's pretty much it! Build up your board a bit, stay alive through basic defenses early on or flipping to Alter-Ego to get access to more cards, and keep everyone alive and everything under control.
I hope you can field this deck in a multiplayer game and have fun with it!
Peace.

Feb 05, 2025Awesome deck! Wondering if using Chaos Magic to play Second Wind would heal for 4 or 5? Thanks! |

Wow this deck looks awesome. Great to see a protection deck so focused on protecting other players. Love the Multiple Man - Chaos Magic combo
