This is a deck that uses Ready for a Fight to allow you to flip down without the villain scheming. Why would you want to do this when she doesn't have an alt-ego ability? She actually does. She resets her energy form. People often complain about Spectrum being caught in the wrong form. If you end in Photon form because you had to thwart a hazard icon, but there's also minion out that you need to deal with. Ready for a Fight can allow you to switch to Gamma form when you flip up if you didn't draw the appropriate event or Blue Marvel. If you did draw the appropriate card, you can switch to a different form for the benefit before changing to the form that you want to be in (with an additional benefit). Beyond all of that, you want to be in alter-ego for the +1 hand size. Access to alter-ego can also allow for healing if you had to take a hit somewhere along the way.

So, with essentially 10 cards to help you change form (3x Speed of Light, 3x Ready for a Fight, Blue Marvel, 3x Photon Speed/Gamma Blast), you are usually going to be in the form that you want. Even if it turns out to be that you aren't, there are many allies in this deck which can help you thwart/attack if you're in the wrong form. You will generally only want to be in Gamma/Photon form. So, when this is the case, Spectrum usually gets hammered because of her 1 defense. This deck intends to solve this by: (a) having 3 copies of Perseverance to give you tough statuses which isn't hard to trigger with all of your form flipping, (b) having a lot of allies that can block for you, and (c) not feeling bad if you do happen to go to pulsar because there are so many ways to change forms in this deck.

Ally selection:

-Brother Voodoo: Allows you to potentially grab a form-changing event if needed, a specific other kind of event, or it can just be a 2-cost ally if you discard the event you draw.

-Clea: Cheap chump blocker that you can, potentially, play multiple times through each deck pass.

-Gambit: Encounter card manipulation/forecasting. Hopefully you can tuck a 2/3 boost encounter card.

-Grant Ward: Cheap ally. If a treachery comes up, you can pay for it with Quincarrier or an event. Mental resources are the most common type in this deck.

-Nick Fury: Chump block, card cycling, and a 2 thwart/attack... just fantastic.

-Polaris: Can tank 2 hits for you and, potentially, attack for 2 for only 3 resource.

-Professor X: Thwart for 3, Confuse the villain, and chump block is an amazing value.

As for the rest of the build, you have 5 resource generators between your Energy Duplication and what's been added. Getting these out are basically one of your top priorities on the first deck pass. Ever Vigilant will allow you to ready and remove threat (even when confused) which can be handy if you need to hit a minion for 6 damage or less and happen to be in Gamma form. Soaring Acrobatics is like an Armored Vest, Combat Training, and Heroic Intuition all in one. It can allow you to activate while in the wrong form without feeling quite as terrible. Practiced Plan will help you recur your Ready for a Fight to either be played again or have an extra resource for the turn. Finally, we have included Specialized Training. Spectrum can easily clear this in solo. All she needs is a Lightspeed Flight if she's in Gamma/Pulsar form when you play it or an Ever Vigilant when in Photon form. Alternatively, she can simply thwart it Pulsar form and have one of her allies do the rest. Can't really say what specialization I usually take with her because it really depends on the villain and the board state when it's cleared.

I hope you give this a try add let me know what you think of it if you do.

I like this to get back to the form you want. Cool idea!

Love this! I think I’d add in Ready to Rumble as one more way to take advantage of her flipping off of Ready for a Fight, but this is great.

Using the Gamma form response on a 1 health remaining minion to activate Change of Fortune could be really fun

Thanks @Castlefrank47 & @boomguy

@teamcanadahockey2002 that would be hilarious against Ultron.

@boomguy I could potentially see Ready to Rumble being better than Ever Vigilant since it's cheaper and she really wants allies if she has none and is not tough or has Pulsar Shield in hand. I'd probably sub out 1 - 2 Ever Vigilant for it... Though, Ever Vigilant has the mental resources for Grant Ward vs. RtR's Energy.
