*Still haven't figured out why the deck shows "Contains Invalid Cards" as the non-Justice aspect cards added fit the requirements of her character.
Time to lay some taxpayer funded justice! Let's face it, in hero form Maria Hill is about as useful as Hawkeye without his bow. Being in Hero really has no benefit early on aside from keeping the villain from scheming, while nearly dying with each consecutive attack.
However in alter-ego Maria is an absolute BEAST! She gets the standard 6 card hand size PLUS the insanely valuable ability to search the deck for ANY S.H.I.E.L.D support she wants, of which you have 11 options (15 in total) to choose from with a variety of benefits; in addition to 11 events that can be used in either form.
General Service Providers
- Government Liaison will be your bread and butter, knocking down the costs of future S.H.I.E.L.D supports and allies all game long.
- Support Staff: Who doesn't want a free wild resource whenever they'd like??? No one.
- Sky-Destroyer: A free 2 damage whenever you throw down an ally, support, or even when using Homeland Intervention and Global Logistics? Yes please!!! -Helicarrier is already a staple of any deck, and once you get out both Government Liaison it becomes your best means of knocking down the costs of all non S.H.I.E.L.D cards.
- The Raft is an interesting means of ticking down threat on a consistent basis, while locking down minions INCLUDING ELITES LIKE Controller!
- Surveillance Team is a fairly boring, but when tied with Monica Chang and Reinforcements it becomes a near consistent means of ticking away threat.
- One copy of Field Agent? When you take into account the number of all-purpose counters produced by Reinforcements and the basic power triggers for Nick Fury and Agent 13, this card becomes a great way keeping these allies alive to continually produce benefits for your supports.
- Ops Room is the card I was least certain of adding, but the damage prevention tied to threat removal is too good to pass up.
Big Ticket Items
- The Iliad is absolute insanity. It provides for an incredible amount of flexibility, and can control the tempo of the game. When in doubt my personal favorite option is using it as a replacement for Med Team.
- The Bellerophon is a card I originally did not give enough credit to. However, the other day we played MODOK and this card single handedly won us the game by keeping Adaptoid's off the board. It literally rains down destruction on a consistent basis at a level no other card can produce in the game. PERIOD.
- The Pericles is a board control machine. Giving an ally like Monica Chang TOUGH for a friendly block AND locking down the Villain at your discretion always gives you a leg up in the Villain Phase. Plus, more enemies are coming out with the VULNERABLE trait which already is a bonus
Events for Alter-Ego or Hero form
- Global Logistics is a fun way to constantly mess with the encounter deck to your benefit. It can't be understated just how valuable this is!!!
- Homeland Intervention will likely get you 4-6 threat removed per use for 0-cost. Need I say more?
- On the Double can allow you to use any of your "Big Ticket Items" or various other supports early on to get more cards on the board.
- Reinforcements is a great way of flooding your board with additional counters. This becomes even more valuable once you start switching to hero form as you begin moving counters to those "Big Ticket Items"
So why switch to Hero form ever? Though I have yet to find a rational for using The Hard Call, All-Points Bulletin is insane. Once you are built up, this card alone begins throwing down 8-12 damage or thwart, with a maximum of 14! Suddenly you have gone from Desk Jockey to Destroyer with the potential to throw down 20 damage a turn through the combination of All-Points Bulletin + The Iliad + The Bellerophon alone!
I'd love to hear your comments on this deck! Thanks for reading
The deck shows invalid cards, because Ops Room is at 2 copies. It needs to be 3 copies. Maria's AE ability is interpreted as - If you add off aspect shield cards, then you must include the maximum number of copies of that card. For the big ships, it's only one, but for the other supports it has to be a full playset.
