Me, I work by mah own, cher.

The first hero I thought of when I saw the new Ronin archetype was Gambit (ok fine, it was Ghost Spider, but Gambit was second). It's a match made in cajun heaven. Base stat of 3, built in readying after a perfect defense, and Natural Agility to boost the DEF to ridiculous numbers.
The permanent DEF boosts
Innate Reflexes, Armored Vest, Defensive Conditioning, Ronin, and Defense Specialist each get you +1 DEF. The beauty of this is, you probably don't need all of them, but you should be able to get some combination of these out in the first few turns.
The temporary DEF boosts and making use of your DEF
Natural Agility and The Best Offense... can boost your DEF even higher. This pairs with "Stop Hitting Yourself" and In Harm's Way to deliver tons of damage and thwarting. And with Stand Alone, Army of One, and Gambit's Guild Armor giving you extra readies, you can make use of Best Offense to deliver massive basic activations.
The Card Draw
Unflappable, Defense Specialist, and Taunt can each reward you with cards when you do what you do best: defend. And between retaliate from Ronin, your staff, Electrostatic Armor, and "Stop Hitting Yourself", you have plenty of ways to trigger Change of Fortune for even more card draw. Remember the staff triggers before the attack! Leave a minion with 1HP left and reap the results. A typical sequence is:
- Villain attacks, you defend, drawing cards from Unflappable and Defense Specialist.
- Minion initiates attack, you ready from Stand Alone.
- Gambit's Staff whacks the minion, you draw two cards off CoF.
- And you can still defend one more time and ready with your Guild Armor!
I've found this deck builds quickly, and is highly flexible to handle what the enemy throws at you. Being able to boost the damage on Stop Hitting Yourself and In Harms Way feels so good.
Possible Alterations
- Remove Energy, Genius, and/or Strength. This deck has a low cost curve, and Gambit has built in double resources. I've found they're useful to make sure you can play the attack events but your results may vary.
- Add Hard to Ignore. I haven't had trouble with thwarting in this deck, but may be useful in some scenarios.
- Add Build Support to fetch X-Jet.
- Let me know other ideas in the comments!
So excited to play this.
