‘Ever been body slammed by a force field at supersonic speed?’

This deck is a lot of fun (all gas - no brakes) and thematically I really enjoy the idea of Pietro grabbbing a forcefield and using it to bodyslam an enemy at supersonic speed. I think Quicksilver is probably the best hero in the game to use Repurpose due to his hero ability and 4x Always Be Running.

Quicksilver can have absolutely massive turns (30+ damage a turn) and only has 9 hitpoints. He is the definition of a glass cannon, right? What if I told you that you don’t need allies to defend him and you will stay in Hero mode for almost the entire game? I’ve beat Rhino, Claw and Ultron all on Expert.

The deck idea is pretty simple:

1) Defend every turn, dealing about 2 damage a turn through Electrostatic Armor, Flow Like Water, and/or Energy Barrier. You get a free stand after defending so it costs you nothing.

2) Install Energy Barriers and Forcefield Generators whenever you can to soak up any damage that gets past your DEF (note that Forcefield Generator has a ‘Forced Interrupt’ so you have to use up your Forcefield Generator before you can use Energy Barrier

3) Use Repurpose on your nearly used up Forcefield Generator and/or Energy Barrier as a mini Maximum Velocity.

That’s it. Preventing 5 damage and dealing 6 damage/thwart for 5 effective resources (ER) is the best case scenario and it’s pretty easy to achieve.

The set-up on this deck is minimal. Deft Focus is the only basic economy card to install. Defiance and Expert Defense were chosen because they are cheap and do the job. With Friction Resistance and Nerves of Steel (which is an option for 40th card) you could play more expensive defence cards like Preemptive Strike, but that is more set-up dependant, which I’m not a fan of.

Let’s talk combos:

1) Energy Barrier + Forcefield Generator with Repurpose: Save that last charge to smash the villain.

2) Maximum Velocity + Always Be Running - Foundational combo with Quicksilver. Note that Maximum Velocity lasts all turn so it helps with defending during the villain phase.

3) Combo 1 + Combo 2: Repurpose is 0-cost so it is super easy to bolt on to Combo 2.

4) Flow Like Water + Defiance + Expert Defense: I think Quicksilver and Black Widow are the two best heroes to run Flow Like Water since they both ready after defending so easily.

Med Team is the 40th card. It was a Helicarrier but this deck doesn’t need the economy. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thougts on symbiotic suit? It would ramp up your life and synergise with extra readies.

Honestly I don’t think you need the extra life. Symbiotic suit is an objectively really strong card but it is also really expensive, which the rest of the deck isn’t. It’s definitely worth trying out though as the 40th card. I don’t know if the extra 2 damage/thwart is worth the extra villain card. If you try it out, let me know how it goes!
