*"never before seen" refers to popular decks from other deck builders that are now eligible to become honorary Mall Rats!
Be Kind
Shopping Spree is a pretty neat card for Jubilee. It can ensure you get her coat and sunglasses, or she can even grab something fun like a bloodgem. But where it really sings is in multiplayer. If you let your teammates clear the last threat on it, they can grab some of their most important upgrades. Ironman can get his Arc Reactor, Cyclops his Ruby Quartz Visor etc. Gwen can even pick up a free Ticket to the Multiverse! Any hero with an item card is a mall rat at heart!
Please Rewind
There are two things to keep in mind in order to make the most out of Shopping Spree. First, threat can't be removed from it by heroes or allies. This includes any of your hero action events, and upgrades. Instead, you have to rely on alter ego actions and support cards to clear it.
The second thing to consider is that Shopping Spree goes to your discard when defeated. If you have a way to bring it back into play, you can trigger it multiple times in a game. Jubilee's mall rat alter ego ability can do just that, but only if Shopping Spree is in the deck.
Behind the Scenes
This whole purpose of this deck is to get Shopping Spree back in play much as possible. To do this, we will be focusing on using Mutant Education to get it back in the deck so she can use her mall rat ability to put it in play. This alter ego event is high priority early on, until everyone at the table has their most important item cards. You want to mulligan for it in your opening hand. Your second priority is one of your draw cards. Either an ally, Avengers Mansion, or Mission Leader.
Deck Thinning
I like to always have Fantomex in play, for a few reasons. First, he thins the deck (just a bit) by pulling his support with him. But more importantly, he's here for E.V.A. This card is flexible in that it can finish off any minion or scheme, can remove tough status cards, and it can remove threat from Shopping Spree. The other deck thinning card here is Suit up. Use this to pull more allies from your deck who then can draw you even more cards. It also lets you grab copies of Clarity of Purpose, which you can either give to any player or just use as a resource.
Draw!
Fantomex is a great target for Strength In Numbers since he isn't really doing anything else. Even if you only draw 1 or 2 cards, that's fine. It's here for deck cycle, not to set up huge turns. Use Suit up when you are first player to play Maria Hill so that everyone gets the most out of her card draw. Kaluu can draw a lot of good events, most notably he's the easiest way to find Mutant Education.
Fin
Take this for a spin with any of the decks linked in the intro, or any hero with item cards. If anything, just throw a few cell phones in any deck and they are good to go!
