Want to Bamf! your allies in and out of the battlefield non stop? This deck has you covered!
Kurt is self-reliant in defending for himself, so this deck gets to make the most out of allies by using them to make a Last Stand, Bamf! them back, and do it again.
Daytripper recursion alone makes leadership a great aspect for Nightcrawler, and she will more often than not be your Make the Call pick, however EACH ally has an enter play ability that is helpful, and who you Bamf! in can change from time to time. Getting mobbed by minions? Squirrel Girl can soften them up. One big bad? Marrow is a beast. Wanna make two calls? Maria Hill ensures it with a card draw.
Since allies get to go out with style rather than as chumps, they can be more impactful on the battlefield. Last Stand overclocks each of these cheap allies to do some respectable damage.
It’s a pro gamer feeling when you have an ally go out to consequential, bamf them back with Rapid Response, they make a Last Stand after their enter play effect, and then you bamf them back in with Make the Call. If you did all that with Daytripper, for example, you’re looking at 11 damage. You won’t always get that big combo, but often will get parts of it and it’s all plenty strong.
Another great thing about this deck? None of the extra events get discarded from your obligation. I've gotten free flip downs thanks to Crisis of Faith, resulting in a bonus card when I pray at Kurt's Chapel over the crisis.
Final note, Last Stand does not combo with Rapid Response as a most recent ruling. If that changes this deck gets even better but it doesn't need it. Just bamf them back using their last health before they make their stand.

Sep 27, 2024Great minds! I originally had Med Lab but wasn’t using it enough. It’s great when it works but not having synergy with Last Stand/save the day really hurt its inclusion. I’ve surprisingly used Call for Backup pretty often to get Daytripper out from the bottom of my deck, or just let it sit there for that right time. Specialized is always a great inclusion for Kurt though. Save the day can really help burst that pss down! |
Sep 27, 2024Not only is Daytripper recursion so great, but it's really cool to see Last Stand. It's so perfect with Nightcrawler since he's rarely looking for chump blocking. A ton of fun to play and wreck shop with overpowered allies. Such a great build!! |

Sep 27, 2024Cool deck! I had been thinking about Go All Out for a Daytripper recursion Leadership build, but now this is convincing me that Last Stand is the better choice. It’s cheap and gives a good chunk of damage for a hero that doesn’t really need a ton of blockers (only in an extreme emergency). Great idea! |
Nice deck. I'm also building a Leadership deck for Nightcrawler and is very similar to yours. Have you considered Med Lab for even more ally recursion? I plan to use it but I'm not sure if it will finally make the cut.
Also, with all of your allies having a cost of 2, do you really think Call for Backup is worth the spot? In my build I'm using Specialized Training for the card draw, but I can aso see your point with Call for Backup to grab the piece you need at that moment.
