Here's my favorite way to play Iceman currently.

It resulted from a few thoughts that I'll share with you:

What is Iceman's identity as a hero in Marvel Champions? In my view, he has a strong answer to minions in Ice Blast so "Come Get Me, Bub!" has some synergy with his kit. He has effective villain control since Frozen Solid ignores steady and stalwart allowing him to stall out games, making building out a viable option.

Where does he struggle? Schemes, his basic defense being RNG dependent, his reliance on player side schemes to gain momentum, and his kit is quite expensive.

This deck aims to address all that. Basic allies and cards for the X-Men tribal aspect are just insane and this leans heavily into all that. Other than that, all the Protection aspect cards are very low cost and just smooth his gameplay. I have play tested it solo on expert against Ronan many, many times. Feel free to try the deck, tweak the deck, but see if you enjoy this play style with Iceman and I would love to hear your feedback. I loved leadership with iceman for obvious reasons, but I personally believe this plays to a lot of his strengths and addresses his shortfalls.

BONUS: A few questions you may have that I can answer now:

Why Storm? Ideally you're drawing into player side schemes and thwarting them proactively but emergencies come up and sometimes you end up playing a card you would have rather "cheated" in with a player side scheme. Storm makes that dead player side scheme card suddenly a very useful place to dump threat.

I need all these allies? Yes I really believe they all do various things to help Iceman's specific needs. Karma was also one I tried a few times because she pairs really well with Come Get Me, and also she can control Pyro when we summon him with Face the Past but she's mighty expensive. Also Synch is great but I'm going to save them for a Magneto deck.

Why Under Control and not Powerful Punch? Sometimes I'm just keeping the minion around to farm them for threat removal with Hard to Ignore and this gives me the option to defeat them when I want to. Also, thins Iceman's deck.

Is Face the Past necessary? No, but it's fun. And Pyro isn't that big of a deal generally.

Hey! Great Ice-Man deck! It’s fun to see him come back in the other aspects after the wave finished! With him not having a Defense card, are you using his basic defense against the villain or minions? (Just curious for triggering the defense upgrades which you’re wanting people to plan on doing)

Thanks for checking out my deck @andyr! I use your decks all the time, I'm honored. I use Iceman's basic defense to trigger them and primarily against minions. It's somewhat villain dependent but blocking an aggro Ronan can be dangerous so I often still chump block but minions are generally safe to block and still trigger all his effects.

Also, I forgot to mention but this deck is the first time where I believe Ice Slide carries a lot of value because I almost never flip down.

Thanks again!
