Daring Lime · 4936
Player Count: 1-4 players
Power: Expert
Difficulty To Pilot: Medium
This deck can do 30+ damage on turn 2. (with a bit of luck)
When I first saw Shuri announced I knew I wanted to build a Sidekick deck. Shuri triggers the special on her upgrades whenever she uses a basic power or when her signature ally T'Challa uses a basic power. That means with Side-by-Side, Get Ready, and Command Team you can easily trigger 4-6+ upgrades in the same turn! It's incredibly satisfying to ready up your hero and T'Challa and trigger your upgrades. It feels like Shuri and her brother are just slicing through the enemies like a hot knife through butter. Let's go over how to play the deck. It's a little tricky, but once you understand, it's actually easy to play.

Turn 1
By far the most important turn of the game is your turn 1. I designed this deck to be fully ready to go after 1 turn. The goal is to get Panther Claws, T'Challa and Sidekick on to the table on turn 1. It's actually doable, but you need to mulligan intentionally. Your goal is to find 2 double resources and 1 copy of Suit Up with your mulligan, and that's all you need. 1 double resource plays suit up, bringing T'Challa and Sidekick into your hand. Then, the other double resource and 2 cards pays for T'Challa, and the leftover card pays for Sidekick. Finally, use your alter-ego ability to exhaust Shuri and bring out Panther Claws and Walla! You're set up on turn 1. I added three copies of Suit Up to improve your odds of finding it. Combine that with the 7 double resources, and this strategy is consistent!
What If I Don't Get The Ideal Hand?
Even if you don't find two double resources, it's still functional. Just play T'Challa and hold on to Sidekick for next turn. It's a bit slower, but still not bad. Also, it may be the case that you want to spend turn 1 doing something else. If you draw into Ingenuity or Avengers Mansion for instance, don't feel bad about just playing it, doing Shuri things, and letting T'Challa arrive when he feels like it. Or just suit up on turn 2-3 instead.
Strategy Tips
My biggest tip for this deck is to not force yourself to try and get all four of your upgrades out. Always make sure to have one (my preference is Panther Claws), but if you need the output use the last sentence of your upgrades, get the value, and play them again later.
Keep T'Challa alive at all costs! He is so powerful, especially with Sidekick so you don't want to lose him. Your alter-ego ability can be used to play Reinforced Suit for some extra security, and First Aid can get some emergency healing onto him if necessary. Use Kimoyo Beads to confuse and go to alter ego so you can safely recover and heal him with Sidekick. Queen Ramonda is amazing at healing, but if T'Challa is low it is often worth it to recover normally, and exhaust Queen Ramonda for The Elephant's Trunk for an extra card draw instead.
Don't underestimate your output. Side-by-Side's stat boost lasts the whole phase on both you and T'Challa. Two side by sides in one turn with Panther Claws is 30 DAMAGE! If you get lucky, you could even do that on turn 2 of the game. You can also choose to thwart instead and clear threat off the whole table even in multiplayer.
What Are These Power Rankings?
I've started making a red box at the top of my writeups to quickly convey some info about the deck. I created a power ranking system for the decks I post, but up to this point, I haven't explained. I'll take the time to do that now. I borrowed from the Marvel Comics mutant power ranking system by Johnathan Hickman. Here are my tiers:
- Beyond Omega Level – Defeats Expert Magneto with ease.
- Omega Level – Defeats Expert Magneto consistently.
- Expert – A functional deck on expert difficulty for the vast majority of scenarios.
- Standard – A functional deck on standard, but can struggle on expert mode. Likely avoids staple cards, uses a limited card pool, or is going for theme over power.
I chose Magneto as my basis villain because he goes with the mutant theme, is difficult, but also fair and allows for a variety of different strategies.
This deck has Beyond Omega Level potential after you have your sidekick set up. But because there can be games where you get unlucky with the draw, I didn't want to bump this deck up to omega level for solo. In multiplayer where you can afford to stay in alter-ego for two turns in a row, this deck's output justifies Omega Level to me, but because most people on this site play 1-2 players, I chose Expert.
My other two decks that use this ranking system so far are here for comparison:
-
Silk Leadership: Omega Level - This deck will consistently defeat the likes of Magneto, but it doesn't completely break the game like my Beyond Omega Level category decks do. The card draw and power from WEB-WARRIORS is just kind of ridiculous.
-
Silk Justice: Beyond Omega Level - This deck completely breaks the game in 1-2 players where it was designed to be played. Justice turbo draw is an archetype that is already game breaking, and Silk benefits from it even more than other heroes because she can tuck the side schemes after defeating them.
I hope you enjoy this deck and the little discussion on my goofy power level system I made.
Stay Zesty!

May 03, 2025Looks great! FYI, the Silk Justice link goes to your L deck for me. |
May 03, 2025Really appreciate the thoughtfulness that you put in your mulligan strategy. Having a good starting hand can be a winning hand. Seeing that Side-by-Side is a key part of the strategy, did you happen to test/consider Leadership Training? |

May 04, 2025This is an exceptional deck. I ran it all day today. In fact, I like it so much I bought a second Shuri pack just to keep this in tact. Absolutely awesome synergy. |

I just find the Dora Milaje to be slow and clunky. That's why I didn't add it here. I wanted the deck to only ask one setup requirement to use it (that being get T'Challa with sidekick). If you were to add the Dora Milaje engine in, you would have to cut White Tiger and Maria Hill. I feel that the Dora Milaje has an anti synergy with Suit Up. You never want the Dora Milaje allies to leave play. So after getting Okoye, plus another Dora Milaje ally out, then you have 3 copies of Suit Up in the deck that no longer do anything. You also will be full on ally slots and lose the ability to chump block without making a major sacrifice. This could be fixed by leaving in a couple other allies as suit up targets, but then you're likely going to need to go over 40 cards, or start cutting Get Ready, Inspired, etc to keep the deck count low. I find the simplicity and reliability of just readying up T'Challa and buffing up his stats permanently with inspired to work really well so I personally wouldn't want to do that. I also really like the extra consistency of having 40 cards with 3 Suit Ups in this deck to get T'Challa set up on turn 1. Those are my quick thoughts on it. I view it as higher peak power at the cost of first turn consistency, tempo, or both. I encourage you to try it though! If you find a way to fit the Dora Milaje engine in without sacrificing turn 1 consistency I would definitely be interested to see it. I just didn't see a solution to it, so I elected to keep it simple, and just have a couple card draw allies to work with Suit Up. Let me know your thoughts. :) |

I absolutely would not sacrifice your turn 1 synergy! It's brilliant actually. Anything I'm tweaking is secondary to, hopefully, enhance T'Challa.... with side-by-side and inspired, and Okoye, that's five ATK before the claws. I'm actually drooling.... lol. High damage output. And for others reading, I hit 27, 26 and 24 turn damage outputs with this Daring Lime's deck today. I likened it to the high damage my Wolverine Fluid Motion/Agression deck can throw out. Quote enjoyable. I'll let you know. Thoughts? |

Really cool deck. Looking forward to try it out. Also I like the power level indicator. Your link to the Silk justice deck links to your leadership deck though. Other than that great write up.
