Flipping Disguised Tree Of Confusing Growth

I always wanted to play Groot since I found out that galexies most wanted was a thing. (i got into the game just before sinister motives released and got galexies most wanted around the mutant genesis time)

I took him out and played him for like a week then just put him back on the shelf because of 1 word. "Forced". Flora Colossus having 1 more word than needed really just made him a bad hero. Pair that with him being in alter ego with low thwart aside from 1-2 events and yeah. Thats a hero that you wouldn't be judged for forgetting his existance.

But I refuse to let him go to waste. So here is my solution to Groot.

Groot wants to be in alter ego for Growth Spurt so Disguise is a great way to utilize Groots basic activation which usually goes to waste since Groot is nearly always at full health because of his growth counters. This also gives him much needed thwarting power to allow him to stay in alter ego for longer periods to build up those growth counters which is perfect for a burst damage playstyle which is tied for my favorite way to play Marvel Champions.

We also have Sense of Justice to fuel the allmighty I AM GROOT not to be confused with I. AM. GROOT! And since most of his cards are superpowers Deft Focus is a must have. Avengers Mansion and Helicarrier are also good for groots economy.

Now we get into his allies. Drax for damage especially in alter ego mode. Martinex is great for chump blocking to allow Groot to keep his growth counters from going to waste on arguably the worst hero ability in the game (seriously Groot would jump from F tier to B tier instantly if they removed 1 word from Flora Colossus) instead we need his counters going to other of his more powerful events.

Mockingbird can stun and block giving Groot EVEN MORE growth counters for personal use and not being thrown out to the garbage incinerator that is. Flora Colossus (I could rant about this trash for hours on end) Nick Fury being top 3 ally in the game (fight me if you think i'm wrong) this leaves 1 more hidden gem that is Hope Summers Getting an ally that can summon superpower cards in case you have your growth counters but you just can't get that massive event you've been wanting to play. And you can use it to block saving even more of Groots growth counters (Are you getting the pattern here?)

That does bring Groot to his biggest weakness which is minion control. He is great at single target damage but he struggles at containing and controlling multiple threats. He is kind of relying on his allies to take care of them for him. Aside from your absolute powerhouse that is Beat Cop

Since your always flipping forms Lay Down the Law is a must and pairs great with Sense of Justice. Crew Quarters is you rmain healing option and fits well with his playstyle. You are going to be in alter ego for a long time then popping up doing your burst attacks then flipping back. But when you do flip down you don't want to be healing with your recovery because Disguise is great to cover the thwart in combination with allies. Under Surveillance is good for wiggle room in an event where you can't thwart down the scheme at least you won't lose. Determination is self explanitory as well as Heroic Intuition.

Lay the Trap is a great damaging option for a final push on the villain especially in multiplayer when the damage scales and other people can thwart it down but your allies can cover for that. Sonic Rifle allows you to flip down and lets your allies focus damage for a turn when your in alter ego instead of thwarting allowing for a faster clear on the villain. And last but certainly not least The Power of Justice and Energy Strength Genius for economy.

This deck is very well rounded and works well in multiplayer when others can allow you to build your allies and supports and upgrades you need to thrive. As always check out my other builds and comment cards that could work in this deck :)
