Banner as.....clutch??

Banner

With this deck, I'm looking to have Bruce Banner play more of an active part in the heroics, and namely this comes through with the card Disguise, which has gone a long way in making Hulk a viable Justice Hero.

Disguise allows Bruce to keep threat down whilst at the same time, work in alter-ego to set up Banner's Laboratory and Ingenuity...both of which are important set ups if Hulk wants to utilise his 4-card hand in hero turn.

Foiled! is included as well (much the same way I had included it in a She-Hulk deck) to give you the opportunity to prevent the scheme from getting out of hand when the villain schemes. Similarly, two copies of Counterintelligence have been included to give you more of a chance to draw it (you also have Agent Coulson for this) as well as a copy of Practiced Plan.

The idea here is to hopefully get a copy of both down, which ensures you can prevent 3 threat on the scheme when you need to...with Practiced Plan bringing Counterintelligence back into your hand to play it again.

I love Practiced Plan and it basically adds another copy of your Preparation card in your deck, so you can choose to bring in Intelligence or Counterintelligence...whatever is handier at that given moment.

Speaking of which, Intelligence represents Bruce's genius coming into play...and this card allows Bruce the opportunity to avoid any nasty encounters.

Under Surveillance also represents Bruce getting one step ahead with his smarts, and playing this also ensures you have that buff - making it just a bit harder for the villain to scheme out...

Beat Cop also represents Bruce engaging law enforcement to help him in his pursuit for justice. A couple of beat cops can go a long way in managing the threat. Don't be put off by the cost, though...as the next card helps in covering all that...

Keeping The Monster In

Meditation is included (have you got that image of Ed Norton sitting cross legged in your mind?) as Bruce focuses to keep the monster at bay, and in doing so is able to play other expensive cards such as Avengers Mansion or even Spider-Man or Daredevil to recruit in his fight against the enemy.

Banner Not Afraid To Seek Help

Avengers Mansion is without saying, a huge boon for Hulk as it addresses his small hand size and gives him more options and resources. The likes of Spider-Man and Daredevil also assist with threat, and shouldn't be wasted on chump blocking if possible. Hulk's huge hp should always be seen as a resource...so keep him standing if you can!

The likes of Blade can function as either a cheap chump block, or an Immortal ally (using the physical resources) to make the odd attack here and there, or keep the threat at bay.

Release the Beast!

Finally, once Bruce does finally release the beast, there are only a few aspect cards included to help Hulk.

Limitless Stamina allows Hulk to fully utilise his massive strength and ready up to deliver two king hits, whilst Unshakable ensures it takes just that little bit longer for Hulk to succumb to a Confuse or Stun - typically the bane of Hulk, and something that can really slow Hulk's tempo.

Hulk......SMASH!

As mentioned, alot of the heavy lifting will be done by Bruce (ironically enough)....but it's well worth it, in order to set up the Jade Giant to do what he does best...and that is to SMASH!

Once set, just lean into the hero cards, and watch the DAMAGE unfold!
