Well, I've never played Doctor Strange before. But I have just picked up his deck. When I say "picked up", as he's out of print, I might have (allegedly) abused the work printer, cut out every card, glued the fronts and backs together and then sleeved them all.
Maybe.
Perhaps.
Anyway, I am acutely aware he splits opinion hugely. I'll reserve judgement until I play him, but in putting together a deck, a lot of greys seemed to be making their way in, so I thought I would continue to see where we ended up. Hopefully somewhere decent.
Upgrades
The Sorcerer Supreme - I mean, this just seems broken, no? Once you have Cloak of Levitation, it's worth getting Soaring Acrobatics out and since you'll be changing form regularly enough, two copies of Ready to Rumble make their way here. Readying always seems a part of a lot of my decks which is no exception here; more on that later.
Endurance pops up as 10 hit points is lower than I'd like.
While we're at it, let's throw some ally buffing around with 2 copies each of Honorary Avenger and Sidearm.
Supports
Crew Quarters to aid with healing when you drop down, essentially making you a 5 REC.
We'll also need some extra resource generation to go along with The Eye of Agamotto, so we'll add Quincarrier and Helicarrier.
Allies
Standard trick of Blade for use with Earth's Mightiest Heroes, so he's in. Ironheart for card draw, Ghost-Spider to get an event back in our hand too.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but Cosmo comes with Interrupt - I'm thinking the Invocation deck counts, right? So Cosmo should never receive consequential damage if you can afford to discard from that deck. Right?!
Events
The aforementioned Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Spiritual Meditation come in - given the strength of his Invocation deck, and his own events, I don't see the need to put too much else in.
So, plenty of readying from Cloak of Levitation, Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Ready to Rumble should keep your motor running to deal with what comes your way.
And that's it. As ever, thoughts and comments welcomed. I'll give this deck a go at some point soon.
There is an errata on Cosmo. Encounter or player deck only.
