Thor has been a tough hero to build for, solo at least. I've tried Justice (game drags on till tomorrow, low DMG), aggro (lack of THW makes it hard), protection (even less THW). Trying to build a Thor leadership deck never seemed to be doable as Thor lacks a decent hand size. Well, I might have ruled it out too fast, as I just had the most interesting game I ever had with Thor... I may try this deck with every scenario if it keeps doing good. What is it all about?
Build a solid economy
Play Team-Building Exercise, which can be used for ASGARD cards (Lady Sif, Asgard, God of Thunder, Mjolnir and Thor's Helmet, Heimdall) as well as AVENGERS cards (allies, but also Avengers Mansion and Avengers Tower).
God of Thunder, Avengers Mansion, Asgard, Avengers Tower help a lot.
I managed to put them all into play... Thor just becomes nuts afterwards!
Also, Assess the Situation as a way to boost Thor's hand if you struggle to get Asgard or Avengers Mansion out early.
Allies to keep control
Thwart with allies will make up for Thor's low THW power. Keep the main scheme as low as possible all the time.
Rapid Response key allies (Lady Sif does an incredible job here, thwarting and allowing you to double-time; Heimdall is incredible and War Machine can take a hit, THW twice, then take a hit...then rapid response gives you two more hits!). Make the Call is also nice if you need to bring an ally back.
EMH? Yep, I've been thinking about Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Considering dropping Inspiring Presence and maybe Avengers Tower to fit 3 of.
Seriously, starting with a hand of 8 as Odinson and having both God of Thunders and Team-Building Exercises in play is awesome. Best game I've had with Thor.
