"You can call it the art of fighting without fighting." - Bruce Lee, Enter the Dragon

Intro

This is a multi-player deck that uses ATK reduction and damage prevention to protect the table without playing defense-labeled triggered abilities. This is an important distinction in multi-player: we don't become the target of attacks against other players because we're not defending for them. The other players remain the target and get to play all of their own interrupts & responses, defend with their own allies, resolve their own triggered abilities & retaliate keywords, etc.

I recommend reading and becoming very familiar with the rules regarding damage dealt, taken, reduced, and prevented; as well as the rules of timing in the damage sequence. Some of those rules are subtle and easily overlooked.

The Cards

We're going to rely on several cards, including events, upgrades and an ally, to protect the other heroes:

Aerial Intervention and Subdue are the events. Pinned Down and Energy Shield are the upgrades. Northstar cancels boost icons (), but unfortunately not boost abilities ().

Solar Gem and/or AERIAL allies are needed for Aerial Intervention. Angel, Cannonball, Hope Summers, and Starhawk fill that role. Additionally, Hope Summers' response ability can search your deck for one of the eleven SUPERPOWER cards in Vision's hero kit.

Energy Shield can be attached to any character. You can prevent as much damage as you have resources to spend. One copy should be played on Northstar. Quincarrier and Solar Gem are consistent sources of resources.

Supports & Upgrades

Avengers Mansion, Dr. Sinclair and Helicarrier are excellent supports that can also be used for other players. Ready for a Fight is included as an emergency safeguard against an otherwise game-ending scheme. (Looking at you, Advance... and Dark Dealings... and Dark Designs...)

Outro

Roll with the changes. Vision has a versatile hero kit that can be played as opportunities arise. Manage your Mass form upgrade to your best advantage.

"Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless -- like water."

I added it to the list here:

This is a fun little deck. I like the Aerial Intervention interaction, and you might even find space for Height Advantage in this deck! I'm always happy to see more Vision decks!

All credit to andyr and his Vision's Intangibles deck for the Aerial Intervention angle.
