Scott Summers is just minding his own business when a villain's scheme gets him Ready for a Fight. Scott comes out of his friend's hole-in-the-wall apartment Hidden Base where he has been preparing a series of tactics to cover a variety of minions that may join the fray. Even so, sometimes it is time to take matters into his own hands and find them himself with "Come Get Me, Bub!". He just so happens to be paling around with 7 (formerly evil) Xes.

Yes, each of these allies were once up to no good either by how they started out, or extenuating circumstances. Each has their own uses. Gambit helps scry the encounter deck and can be set up with decent stats. Professor X and Psylocke help you go to alter-ego when you're not Ready for a Fight or if you want to stay down for 2 turns to pull more tactics cards and recover. White Queen helps with pesky status cards. And each of these (formerly evil) Xes can be useful for handling threat. Wolverine is here despite the rocky relationship, because he can do the thing that Scott just can't handle without his visor; piercing.

Energy Shield is useful for placing on the villain so Scott can take advantage of the upgrade and keep on blasting.

Protective Training has a couple of uses. Place it on an ally that Rogue can use her touch on, keep Wolverine around for a bit longer, if Gambit has great status because of a lucky 3 boost card...keep him going that much longer.
