Another deck I've made for a challenge from the Winning Hand podcast, this time to build a deck around Chance Encounter. Chance Encounter is a good card, but many times, by the time you have spend your hand clearing a side scheme, you aren't left with enough resources left over to play the ally you gain from it. With Maria's easy access to The Circe, this deck alleviates that issue and also gives her the ability to recur allies who can bring in more side schemes.
While I generally advise against going straight for the supercarriers with Maria, getting The Circe into play early is important for this deck. If you see a good early hand to spend to get it, it will make the deck work.
Sentry and Manifold are your key allies for keeping the side scheme engine going. While Quasar, Jessica Jones, and Monica Chang will help manage the side schemes. Threat management is also available from Surveillance Team, The Douglass, Even the Odds and especially Homeland Intervention. Remember that Maria makes allies SHIELD in hero form, so even those 1 THW allies, can effectively thwart for 2 when exhausted to fuel a Homeland Intervention.
The Iliad is probably best saved for dealing damage along with your Tac Team cards, but as always, it will come in clutch in multiple situations.
The Triskelion is dubiously useful here. It can come in handy, but you tend to cycle through your allies. You could swap it out for for 3 copies of Ops Room for more survivability or R&D Facility to boost your allies stats, it will just fatten your deck by two cards.
Loading! Thanks for making another deck for the weekly challenge. I added it to the list here:
