With the release of Mad Titan's Shadow, Nebula, and Adam Warlock especially it seems like Spider-Woman is no longer the go to for out of aspect crazy combos. It makes sense, it's nice to get Med Teams into an ally centric deck, or have tons of options included in a well rounded deck, but having to include extra cards from an aspect or two that you don't really need can mess up combos like this one:
Yondu is a champ, and being a Guardian means that he can take advantage of some of the new cards Nebula brought like Energy Spear and new MTS cards like Blade. The goal of this is to build up the allies (mainly Blade and Yondu because of their lack of consequential damage) and deal the bulk of your damage through them, with Spider-Woman getting the added benefit of relatively cheap aspect cards to buff up her stats. Two cards I'm unsure about are Quincarrier, which I included to help pay Blade's resource cost consistently, and Audacity, which I included for another red card to make Leadership and Aggression even.
A few notable combos and reasons for including certain cards:
- Team Training makes Wasp a free 3 (or 4 with Boot Camp) attack, or a free block. It also helps Iron Man, Bug, Hulk and Captain Marvel since they do take consequential damage.
- Honorary Avenger is necessary for Sky Cycle on Yondu, and another is included for Bug. One could be dropped if you want the deck to be at 40 cards even.
- Multiple Aggression cards are just there to equal the number of Leadership cards, and are kept cheap for that reason. Godslayer, Skilled Strike, Audacity, Hulk, and in a way Bug are all interchangeable, but they all feel like they serve at least some purpose, and are the best choices in their own regard (though I am still very open to suggestions!).
I would love to add more card draw, but I couldn't find a way to get it that I liked. If anyone has suggestions please leave them in the comments, as that is one thing I think this deck could struggle with.
I sadly won't be able to try this deck for a while (MTS in America and all that), but I am very excited to get it on the table, and if someone tries it I would love to know how it does!
