The goal of this deck is to perform high-powered As One! attacks. Star Lord's hero ability makes the trait requirement for the attack very easy; every ally included in his deck gains the guardian trait, so all you need is an avenger ally to complete the attack. Aggression has powerful allies and powerful upgrades, making it easy to boost your allies to a high total attack to unleash As One! for huge damage.

Here is an example scenario:

Hulk and Wasp allies are both in play. They each have Energy Spear and Enraged upgrades. With Boot Camp in play, their attacks have both been boosted to 8.

Play As One!, exhausting Hulk (Avenger ally) and Wasp (Guardian ally from Star Lords ability), dealing a combined 16 overkill damage. For only two resources! Even if you don't have the full set up of upgrades, exhausting two 3 attack allies for minimum 6 damage is a good rate.

Gamora and Plan of Attack are included to increase your odds of finding your As One! cards once you have your allies set up. But Star Lord is incredibly strong by himself, with his Sliding Shot and Element Guns; so even if you have difficulty finding As One! he can hold his own.

You want to be careful attacking with Enraged allies due to the increased consequential damage, but just in case you need some healing there are two First Aid. You want to keep those allies healed up since they can still attack for big damage on turns you don't have As One!

I included Audacity instead of The Power of Aggression, since Star Lord can already make cards cheaper with his ability, but really that card could be swapped out for something else. But I like using it to remove a tough status before a big As One! attack.

Great deck! I built a similar As One! Star-Lord deck. The issue I ran into in using Enraged (I ended up switching those out for Sidearm) was that allies couldn't really attack or block unless As One! came up. That led to threat build up, and Star-Lord taking too many hits to the face. Does this deck have that issue? If so, how do you work around it?

Thanks! Enraged could certainly be switched out for Sidearm. The -1 Attack wouldnt make that big a difference. And I found that once I had my two designated As One! allies set up, I used the additional allies for chump blocking to help protect Star Lord.

And Leader of the Guardians can help a bit with thwarting, but obviously that's not ideal. I mostly play two handed, so it helps to have this deck paired with one that can deal with threat. But playing solo, I think this deck would just want to rush down the villain (not too difficult with Star Lord). Even though this deck has some set up, it is surprisingly easy to get off powerful As One! attacks

@Moby Gotcha. Yeah, I think Star-Lord might be the best rush the villain character. Using it that way, especially in mutli-player, would be really effective. I'm glad to se other deckbuilders think like me. :)

I love these Avenger/Guardian cards for Star-Lord. He does surprisingly well with a Protection Stand Together deck, too. But the one that's gonna be lights out, is a Problem Solvers Justice deck for Star-Lord when Valkyrie comes out. Paired with One Way or Another, Star-Lord will crush all the threat.
